All is peaceful for our heroes who are taking a well deserved rest after the dramatic battle with Cell Max. Suddenly a spaceship crash nds on the front wn of Capsule Corp.

  Security is already rushing the ship weapons at the ready. Vageta is unavaible, currently training on Beerus' pnet with Goku. The guards approach cautiously, when the ship's door quickly flies open. The guards train their weapons on the door and wait for something to happen, when a voice calls out from inside.

  Unknown-”Greetings earthlings I need you to point me to your leader Bulma.”

  Guard-”State your business” The guards look like they’re about to shoot.

  Bulma-”Hold your fire!” Bulma shouts as she strides up to the spaceship. “You want to go ahead and tell me the reason you messed up my yard Jaco.” The body from within steps out into the light.

  Jaco-”Straight to business and I thought we were on friendlier terms”

  Bulma-”You can join me for coffee if you feel like but you did just crash nd here and your ship isn’t looking too good, this can’t just be a friendly visit.”

  Some time ter Bulma and Jaco are in a common room having some refreshments.

  Bulma-”So you’re here on a recruitment mission for the Gactic Patrol?” she rubs her chin deep in thought.

  Jaco-”As you can see from my ship things are getting curiously more chaotic since that whole Moro incident.” He drinks from his cup. “And I was hoping you would repair my ship of course for a friendly discount.” He gives a thumbs up and a cheeky grin.

  Bulma-”Not happening i'm not your personal mechanic that you can just drop by whenever you want I got a schedule to keep y'know.” She berates Jaco for trying to use her.

  West City, at Blue Hal High School. A school bell rings and a group of kids are sprawling in all directions as they are released from css. Trunks and Goten walking with each other saying goodbye to their cssmates.

  Trunks-”The st few days of school I can’t wait until I can finally sleep in.” He says while stretching and yawning.

  Goten-”I bet you can’t wait to stop getting detention.” Goten chuckles, which causes Trunks to get a crestfallen look.

  Trunks-”That was a low blow man” Just as he says that he phone rings out and seeing that it's from his mom he swiftly answers, her face pops up on the screen. “Hi mom”

  Goten-”Hi auntie Bulma”

  Bulma-”Hey Goten, Trunks you think you can come home right away I need someone to watch Bra. I’m Gonna be quite busy the next few days” Seeing as he can’t really refuse a request from his own mother he agrees and makes his way home. Goten decided to tag along with him since he hasn’t seen Bra in a while anyways. They both make it to Capsule Corp, and upon arriving they immediately see Jacos spaceship. And upon entering the building they see Jaco himself.

  Trunks-”Hey Taco what are you doing here?”

  Jaco-”It’s Jaco and as you can obviously see my ship is in need of repairs and your mother has agreed to give me a best friends discount”

  Bulma-”We’re barely friends and no I didn’t” She screams from the other room.

  Goten-”Well how did it get so damaged in the first pce?”

  Jaco-”I was in a battle and I escaped to my ship but of course they followed me and really made my life hell for a while, but I managed to lose them along the way. It’s actually the other reason why I'm here.” Jaco then proceeds to tell Goten and Trunks about the recruitment into the Gactic Patrol. And as expected their faces light up with excitement, but Jaco holds up a hand and quickly quells those feelings. “I’m already working on getting Goku and Vegeta and if I get those two then there would be no need for anybody else.”

  Bulma-”Well I hope you have a backup pn.” She says while walking into the room. “I already told you Goku and Vegeta are off world training and I can’t get into contact with Whis so they must be going pretty hard. So if those guys were who you were after you might end up leaving empty handed.” Jaco mulls over her words and snaps his fingers with an idea.

  Jaco-”What about that gsses boy and the green jumpsuit he was pretty strong.”

  Goten-”My brother, I mean I can ask him.” Goten says clearly disappointed, but he nonetheless takes out his phone and call Gohan. Gohan answers with Pan clinging onto him.

  Gohan-”Hey Goten whats up?” Goten then expins to him the situation. “I see, I wish I could help but i’m kinda swamped with work right now, and I don’t know if I could leave Videl and Pan for months at a time.”

  Jaco-”Can’t you forget about your wife and daughter when the gaxy is at stake.” Jaco practically yells at him.

  Gohan-”I’m sorry, you can ask Krillin but I think he might say the same thing I said. I would suggest Piccolo but I haven’t heard from him he’s off doing his own training.” At this Goten and Trunks are clearing their throats very loudly obviously trying to make a point.

  Bulma-”Don’t go getting any ideas boys you still have school”

  Trunks-”Oh come on mom there are only two days left and you yourself said that you were gonna be working on his ship for a while. Come oonnnn” He gives her the best puppy dog eyes he can muster and Bulma all but cracks under his gaze.

  Bulma-Sigh”Fine you I’ll allow you to go only on the condition that Chi-Chi lets Goten go I trust her judgment better than my own.” Trunks cheer at this but Goten on the other hand is a little less enthusiastic because he knows how hard it is to convince his mom of the smallest things. How is he supposed to convince her to let him go into space to fight aliens with the potential to kill him. Trunks sees his friend in deep thought and throws an arm around his shoulders.

  Trunks-”Don’t worry Goten I know you got this.” Goten gives him a smile and for the rest of the day Goten stops to say hi to Bra and py a couple video games before he takes his leave and on his way home he’s stuck in thought going over many scenarios he can use to try to convince his mom. He finally makes it home and stops in front of his door he takes a deep breath and walks through into his home.

  Chi-Chi-”Hey Goten” she comes over and gives him a hug “I already made dinner you just have to heat it up.” But as she’s talking she sees the look on her sons face. “Whats wrong?”

  Goten-”Well what if I told you your son got a great opportunity.” Chi-Chi wears a questionable look on her face so Goten quickly tries to appease her. “It’s nothing bad it’s actually for a company” Now at that news Chi-Chi’s face does brighten and she motions for Goten to continue. “Well I get to help people from different pces so it requires me to travel. I will get to meet a lot of new people and Trunks is also considered for the job.” Goten is trying his hardest not break but the longer he expins the less excited Chi-Chi gets because of course she has the suspicion Goten is hiding something.

  Chi-Chi-”What aren’t you telling me?”

  Goten-”Well it actually requires me to go to space.” Goten cringes as he expins and he can already see the dismissive response forming on his mothers lips so he beats her to the punch. “Why won’t you let me go by the time Gohan was my age he has spent years in space and has fought space aliens.”

  Chi-Chi-”You think I let him do that, you think I enjoyed seeing my baby beat up and broken. You think I want you to go through that?”

  Goten-”But I have to.” Goten voice is soft.

  Chi-Chi-”Why?”

  Goten-”Because I don’t think i’m good enough.” Chi-Chi stares at her son and then takes his hands in hers. Goten continues. “Dad and Gohan has done so many amazing things that sometimes I feel like I shouldn’t even be reted to them, I feel so wasted like I could be better than what I am. My biggest dream is being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with them and right now I have an opportunity to get closer to that dream.” Goten looks at Chi-Chi with unwavering determination in his eyes. She searches his face and soon her own face crumbles between a mix of pride and grudging acceptance.

  Chi-Chi-”Your just like your father” she says with a smile. “ Fine I’ll let you go but you have to promise me that you’ll be safe.” She crushes Goten in a hug who happily returns it.

  Goten-”Of course and i’ll call you everyday just so you won’t worry too much.” For the next couple of days Goten is spending most of his time at Capsule Corp. sparring with Trunks getting ready for the adventure in space. On the final day of school Goten and Trunks run into Gamma 1 on their way home. They come to a sudden stop and for a couple seconds nobody says anything just floating staring at each other.

  Trunks-"Yo G1 you gonna tell us why you're here?"

  Gamma 1-"G1? Don't give me nicknames." He says nonchantly

  Goten-"If you didn't come for the cool nickname then what are you here for?"

  Gamma 1-"Gohan asked me to find you boys something about joining the Space Patrol. Going from pnet to pnet and helps those in need. Do you really know what that means though." He stares hard at Trunks and Goten, the two teenagers squirm a little under his gaze. "I understand about fighting to prove something." Goten clenches his fist. "I also seen what happens to those who chase after the superhero status." Trunks looks away. "The main goal is to save lives, if it isn't you aren't a true hero at all." With those st words said he flies off leaving them to think about his words.

  Trunks-"Well i'll see you ter i'm gonna go pack for the trip." Trunks is almost home when he spots Mai slouching on a nearby wall. She waves him over and they both go sit down at a table.

  Mai-”I heard from your mother that your leaving. Going on some kind of trip.”

  Trunks-”Yea that's pretty much the gist of it.”

  Mai-”Is it going to be dangerous?” She looks at him and Trunks blushes and stammers over his words until she cuts him off. “I know the type of lifestyle you and your family has, same with Goten, and I know that things can happen when living this lifestyle.”

  Trunks-”I didn’t know you cared so much Mai.” He says while still blushing. Mai for her part just rolls her eyes and gets up from her seat.

  Mai-”Its not like I want you two dead or anything and I say that's caring enough.” With that she readjust her backpack and walks away from the conversation. Trunks just smiles and and flies away to his own home to get ready for the adventure ahead.

  Some time ter Goten knocks on Trunks window and lets himself in. He has two backpacks worth of supplies with him.

  Goten-”You ready to go?”

  Trunks-”Yeah, i’m kind of nervous to be honest this is going to be the first time we’re gonna be on our own.”

  Goten-”I know what you mean but this is our chance to show them that we can stand on our own.” Goten says very determined his confidence growing every passing minute. Trunks sees this and feeds off the confidence of his best friend and he holds out a fist.

  Trunks-”We’re gonna kick ass and have our names bring hope to our allies and fear into our enemies.” He gives a big smile and Goten gives one of his own and bumps his fist against his. They both ready themselves and walk towards the ship, only to find almost everybody waiting for them there. Chi-Chi, Gohan, Videl, Pan, Bulma and Bra, Krillin, 18 and Marron, and the rest of the Z fighters(besides Piccolo). Chi-Chi is crying in Gotens arms while Gohan stands close and looks very proud of his little brother. Bra is crying heavily refusing to let go of Trunks, Bulma smiles at the scene but it doesn't quite reach her eyes. She pulls Bra away and looks Trunks in the eye with hers watering.

  Bulma-”You better not make me regret this.” Then she gives him a crushing hug and Bra goes back to clinging onto her brother. Trunks once again sees Mai and the rest of the Pif gang out the corner of his eye and they all give a wave at his departure.

  Marron-”I can’t believe you were just gonna leave without saying anything.” Marron has her cheeks puffed out while she chastises Goten.

  Goten-”I promise it wasn’t on purpose it just slipped my mind.”

  Marron-”You’re telling me i’m not important enough that I can just be forgotten from your mind.” She crosses her arms and turns away.

  Goten-”That’s not what I meant, oh come on i’ll bring you all types of souvenirs from different pnets.” She nods her head gives him a quick hug and walks off. Krillin and 18 are ughing from behind him. A loud horn rings out in the small clearing.

  Jaco-”Hey if were leaving lets go.”

  Goten and Trunks-"You guys are looking at the best Space Patrol troopers in history!" They shout it while jerking a thumb at themselves. Trunks and Goten quickly get into the spaceship. They’re saying their final goodbyes as the ships door shut. Once they finally do the ship starts gaining altitude and within a couple seconds the ship takes off and is out of the earths atmosphere. Goten and Trunks look down at their home pnet with tears in their eyes but the resolve is strong in there heart. The next step of their journey begins here.

  Jaco-"You know its actually Gactic Patrol right."
