Chapter 0 - Isekai? No thanks— wait, what?!

What would you do if you were suddenly transported into the world of your favourite story.

A lot of people on SNS fantasize about it.

The idea of being transported or, as is more popular these days, reincarnated sounds amazing, doesn't it? Especially if the world comes with cute heroines and overpowered abilities. For anyone who wishes to escape from chains of monotony we call “Life”, it’s tempting.

I get it. I really do, this sentiment. The thought of abandoning everything for a fresh start in a story you love would be too good to pass. It feels dream-like, sweet and alluring, like honey dripping from a spoon. But I have always believed that such sweetness always hid poison.

So, if by chance some divine being ever appeared and gave me the chance?

  I’d reject it.

And not because I'm rich or that I'm happy. And definitely not because I have a girlfriend waiting at home. (I wish).

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

But because I don't trust my luck.

In fact, if superpowers existed then bad luck would have been my superpower. It wouldn't be wrong to say I’d be right behind Peter Parker on the list of unlucky heroes. Just minus Spider Power as well.

My history says it all: in every gacha game I’ve ever played, I only pulled decent characters when I hit pity. Even when a free rare servant dropped, some bizarre twist would rob me of it.

So why on earth would I gamble my hard earned life on the same wheel of misfortune? Why would I throw away all the tiny scraps of progress I've grinded out in reality just to roll the dice again?

No matter how monotonous my days are, no matter how aimless my routine may feel, at least it's mine. At least, I know it wouldn't be worse. Resetting all of it in the faint hope of a better hand…No thanks.

If possible I would say this in every language I could speak. And my answer would be the same all the time.

That's how I lived, super sure that I’d never ever end up in another world.

Which is exactly why, when I finally gained these memories or what one may call previous life. I couldn't stop laughing at the irony.

And the only thing I could say was, “F*CK MY LUCK”.
