Lilith, Nyx, and her team left the south front heading east, accompanied by the warden, two physical undead, and 34 elite undead. In the south, they suffered losses, and the loss of 3 undead with E-grade physical status hurt the hardest.
Nyx felt gratified knowing that it was based on Nightworn’s orders that they have sacrificed themselves to save her friends in certain situations, even the warden who remained as her protection for most of the time has suffered injuries, which allowed her to cast support magic without interruption.
Nyx truly understood the terror of the crossworlders in this fight.
The control they have over mana or physical properties can’t be compared to theirs. Even the E-grade physical undead suffer against them. These crossworlders have trained for countless years and can fight above their grade. Stupid undead can’t compare, but with their help, we manage to entrap and kill most of them.
Nyx also realized how brutal and merciless they could be as long as they could achieve their goals, at first her thoughts were that they saw themselves superior then them, the natives, or that they didn’t consider them worthy, but she understood her mistake, these people hold no contempt; no matter who your opponent is, they will use any cruel method to survive and fight.
If it weren’t for Lilith and the many undead, they would have died many times over.
Nyx clenched her fist as she remembered what those three did to escape, but then loosened it again. Nightworn wasn’t like them; he was different.
He is willing to lose a domain-bound undead for them, he favored us over a creature that will never betray him, he values them, and Nyx knew that she didn’t want to waste his intention; she would prove herself.
Now she truly understood how cruel this world has become, and she doubted whether she could survive on her own with the presence of these crossworlders, as the two of them are on two different levels.
By the time Nyx reached the eastern front, she heard the sound of an explosion, so she turned her head lightly and saw a magnificent fire raging.
Her heart tightened as she knew from Hollow that Nightworn had sent a team there.
However, just then she heard Hollow’s voice, “Don’t worry, this is the new guy, the north of the domain is safe for now, so don’t get distracted.”
However, before she could breathe a sigh of relief, she heard something that almost made her faint.
“The boss said that everyone should dive as deep as possible into the undead horde, with the exclusion of Lilith; she is to remain in the back with the warden.”
Korgan was the first to object, “This is insane. If we will only meet undead, then fine, with the help of our stronger undead, we can win, but if we meet one of these crossworlders, then we would only die.”
“It is the order,” Hollow said, “plus, mind your tongue or I might rip it off for you.”
Hollow laughed carelessly, but no one minded him as everyone was used to it.
Lilith said coldly, “Be quiet.” As the words fell, Hollow didn’t just stay quiet but even disappeared from his place. Hollow always felt that Lilith could erase him, even though it should be impossible; that’s why he feared her.
Then Lilith turned her gaze toward Nyx, “You will lead the battlefield, your team, and the undead, and do as you are ordered without question, otherwise I will be the one to end you all.”
As Lilith said that, she floated up a building with the Warden shaking the earth as he followed her.
Nyx watched Lilith leave without a care, and when she turned her head, she saw Aelar, Mira, and the others looking at her.
Korgan said, “It is good that you are the leader, or the team is small, you can see the situation of the battlefield more accurately than we on the front line.”
Nyx looked at Korgan in a daze. On the first day of the disaster, he died, but now he is walking and talking like before.
The world had change so why not embrace it.
Nyx smiled and said, “We should trust Nightworn, he hadn’t fail us yet, previously he also gave some odd command but it always worked out.”
The others nodded when they heard that.
Quickly, they marched eastward as Lilith watched them from behind coldly. She knew Nightworn too well, and he wouldn’t waste resources, so they wouldn’t be dying, unless they were useless.
They are the bait, and the real fight will be taken care of by her and the warden.
Unbeknownst to anyone, the reason behind sending them is to die and sacrifice them to delay the enemy undead until the 1000 undead from the south reach the east side to reinforce it, while keeping 500 in the south to protect the rear.

Nightworn felt bad for it, but it was a necessary sacrifice.
…
Nyx threw her support magic outward.
Thin strands of pale mana stretched from her fingers and linked to the others one by one.
Rook, Mira… even the E-grade undead was affected.
This spell could help them share some of their heist status with each other.
After finishing the spell, she panted heavily, and her worry increased; the battlefield situation was deteriorating by the minute.
She was even forced to ask one of the E-grade undead to die to save Mira.
After Hollow heard her, he sent the undead as commanded by Nyx
The invading undead are weak as they are wild and nowhere near their own in regard to strength; however, there is one crossworlder among the enemy undead, and for some reason, he could move freely between them, as if invisible and could only be seen by her and the domain-bound undead.
He was picking her own people one by one; she knew that she needed a way to finish him off.
As Nyx was thinking, a battle had already erupted behind her, and the fight was only one street away from Nightworn’s skyscraper.
…
Lilith had noticed movement, clean and quiet.
Her eyes moved over the ruined street below from the top of the broken building she stood on. Cracked walls. Half-collapsed storefronts. A burned car turned sideways. Dust drifting through the dark. Undead moving in the distance toward Nyx’s group, loud and mindless.
However, what interested her was the fact that the enemy had let the large horde occupy Nyx and the others, and then sent a small but powerful team toward Nightworn.
Lilith thought, ‘Vorn can even predict their movement, how interesting.’
The Warden stood a few steps behind her, her like a bloodied wall of flesh, one of his arms split open from the fighting in the south, but the blood that covered its body was mostly from his enemies who were smashed into pieces.
Lilith didn’t use mana sense, but just enhanced her vision and hearing, as she didn’t want to expose herself just yet.
After a while, Lilith started to gather mana quietly, and in less than a minute, the enemy was only one street away from him.
One of them had the greatest speed, so Lilith targeted him first. As he drew closer, Lilith unleashed a devastating dark crescent, sweeping toward a building.
The building had nothing on its surface when Lilith launched the attack, but as the blade got closer to the building in less than a second after its launch, a figure appeared in the same place. His face looked horrified, but without hesitation, he used his own arm to slow the attack for a fraction of a second to help him jump to safety.
‘Ruthless enough, however, with such an injury, for how long can you survive?’ Lilith thought silently.
As for the building, half of its surface was destroyed by this attack.
Just then, he let out a scream to warn the others as he held the empty socket of his left arm, “That woman is here, be careful.”
Lilith paid him no attention as she spoke to the air, “The other three, one of them is a mage, the other two have their status in DEF/STR, send the warden to distract them while I catch this mouse.”
As she said so, Hollow ordered the warden to act as she said, while she jumped to catch the one who lost an arm.
When Vorn understood what was happening right under him, he almost vomited. Why is the enemy so sneaky? Without a second thought, he told Hollow to get the undead mage and the elite under him to leave the north and come here quickly.
As for his own protection, he made them come even closer.
…
Nyx didn’t know what had happened behind her, nor did she have the time to care.
Because the fight in front of her was getting worse.
Another bound undead fell to her right, its head separated so quickly that Nyx only saw the end of it. One moment, it was still slaughtering the enemy undead, the next, its body folded as if a blade had appeared from nowhere and taken the life out of it.
“There!” Nyx shouted instinctively, pointing toward the direction where the undead fell.
But by the time Korgan turned, nothing was there except the undead pushing forward.
The hidden crossworlder had vanished again.
Rook spat blood to the side. “I hate this bastard.”
Nyx didn’t answer.
Her mana reserves were already falling too fast, but she didn’t dare stop; if she stopped, then the crossworlder would take the lives of her friend just as easily as the elite undead.
Hollow’s avatar appeared near her shoulder, floating badly off-balance from how quickly he had moved.
“I reported your situation,” he said. “The boss says figure it out yourself, no support is coming, isn’t this guy just fast? What is so difficult about it?”
“These were his exact words,” Hollow said with a shrug.
Nyx felt as if has been struck by lightning. This is right, he is just fast.
He had never attacked Korgan, or Orik, or the last remaining E-grade physical undead, the one who was sacrificed was already injured from the south fight and wasn't focused on DEF.
Unlike the other crossworlders who fight E-grade undead like nothing, he only attacked the elite undead with low defense in general and her other friends.
I don’t know what his class is, but he definitely isn’t as strong as he appears; he is just fast and good at hiding.
…
Lilith, for the first time, felt pressured. After killing the one who lost an arm, she came to rescue the warden, as he is a valuable resource, but her mana was already low from fighting such a prolonged fight.
Moreover, the three coordination was almost perfect.
For the warden, she had already cast a minor healing for the dead on him, as he only had one breath left when she arrived.
Blood oozed from her eyes as more cuts started to appear on her body, but she never thought of retreating.
She only needed to wait; she knew Vorn’s too well.
Just then, a devastating mana wave entered the battlefield, and everyone who was attacking Lilith jumped to avoid it.
A dry rhythmic clicking of haughtier sounded “kekekeke, I have arrived.”
An undead with eyes that flickered with blue fire, and tattered cloths appeared.
Then, countless more started to appear encircling the three invaders in a half circle.
The three could not help but curse under their breath, ‘Is he mad? He brought all of the elite undead here; the north line and the one thousand undead or so under him would be slaughtered.’
‘Is killing us worth it?’
The three at most expected that reinforcement from the domain would appear, and in that case, they could escape easily; this was also their goal based on Sevran's command.
So why is this happening?
…
Nyx had a plan now. The hint from Vorn had awakened her. She started to slowly change the positioning of her team. She positioned the ones with strong defenses to the edges, while also stopping to strengthen them secretly.
The ones with low defenses were made to stand with her in the middle. She did the change slowly over 10 minutes, and the crossworlder didn’t notice.
However those with weak defense multiple buffs were casted on them.
All she needed now was to wait for a chance, once he attacks and fails; the middle will delay him, while the edges will use all their power to encircle him.
