Chapter 83: No One Will Disturb Tonight

Chapter 83: No One Will Disturb Tonight

Gao Qi’s father was no longer in the ICU but in a VIP single room. When Zhang Yang was about to enter, he noticed the door was slightly open. Gao Qi hadn’t returned yet, but there were already people inside. From the gap, he saw it wasn’t a hired nurse but Gao Qi’s sister, He Shan—and an unexpected guest, Li Jindong.

Judging by how intimate the two looked, sparks were flying. No wonder Gao Qi didn’t want to stay there as a third wheel.

Li Jindong, that guy, really had some game. After three years of college, besides building muscle, he’d been completely immune to women. His philosophy had always been he’d rather jerk off to death than touch a woman—maybe he was planning to marry a man. Who’d have thought the guy finally figured it out?

Looks like when Zhang Yang asked him to help at the hospital that night, it accidentally sparked a romance. Good job, kid, you’ve matured. That means Uncle Li won’t have to worry about the family line dying out. Zhang Yang should probably ask his dad for a red envelope later.

Zhang Yang was watching with amusement when someone lightly tapped his shoulder from behind. Before he even turned, the scent of gardenia perfume hit his nose—Versace Crystal Noir, Gao Qi’s favorite.

“What are you doing?” Gao Qi leaned forward, her generous chest pressing against his back, sending a surge of warmth through his nerves. Damn, 34D+ was no joke.

Just as Zhang Yang was about to speak, Gao Qi glared and put a finger to her lips, motioning for silence. Then she pulled him aside and whispered, “I forgot to tell you—they’re getting all lovey-dovey in there. If you barge in now, you might give Li Jindong prostatitis and ruin my sister’s future happiness.”

“Their clothes are still on. What prostatitis?” Zhang Yang rubbed his nose, his curiosity flaring again. “So, how far have they gotten?”

“How far? They’re still pure. Not like you—didn’t take you long to fuck your sister.” Gao Qi pinched Zhang Yang bitterly.

Idiot Li Jindong, with all that muscle, can’t even handle a girl. Zhang Yang sighed, then pretended not to catch her words and asked softly, “Who’s watching your dad tonight?”

“I just finished dealing with your company’s finances, so my sister’s been taking turns. Tonight’s my shift, though. I’ll stay overnight.” Gao Qi pouted.

“Not going home? What about the nurse?” Zhang Yang remembered arranging one for her. Usually, after 9 p.m., the nurse handled the night care.

“Sister Ge had an emergency and took a day off. The room’s big anyway, and there’s a companion bed. I’ll sleep here tonight.”

Zhang Yang thought for a moment. “Then I’ll stay with you tonight.”

“Really?” Gao Qi’s face brightened with a hint of joy she couldn’t hide.

“Of course.” Zhang Yang reached out and pinched her cheek reassuringly.

Though she acted strong and fearless, staying alone in a hospital brought a deep loneliness and sadness few could understand. Having spent nights by his grandfather’s side, Zhang Yang knew that feeling of helplessness all too well—he didn’t want Gao Qi to go through it too.

“Thank you.” Gao Qi glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then gave him a quick kiss.

The soft, wet touch made Zhang Yang’s heart race. Tonight, no one would disturb them—this was a golden opportunity.

Once he confirmed Li Jindong and He Shan weren’t doing anything indecent, Zhang Yang and Gao Qi knocked and entered the room.

Li Jindong looked visibly embarrassed when he saw Zhang Yang—his face even turned red like a shy maiden. He awkwardly mumbled something about having errands to run and tried to leave, while He Shan’s face also flushed red as she fidgeted awkwardly.

“The hell, you big guy. It’s not like you have class. What business could you have in broad daylight? Chasing girls?” Zhang Yang rolled his eyes and pushed him back onto the chair. “If you leave, I’ll assume you’re off to a brothel.”

Li Jindong clearly didn’t want to go. Hearing that, he immediately sat down again. “Bro, I’m pure!”

Then, looking at Zhang Yang, he pointed to the TV to change the subject. “Damn, speaking of which—since when did you join the university’s ‘Dragonborn’ project team? You didn’t even tell your bros. Nice one.”

Zhang Yang sighed and looked at the TV. It was still broadcasting today’s headlines. His name wasn’t prominent but was visible in the corner. Obviously, some reporter had dug it up. He’d told Professor Shangguan countless times to hide his identity, but news couldn’t be contained forever.

Oh well, not a big deal—he’d just avoid walking on main streets for a while.

“Ahem, aren’t you hiding a few things from us too?” Zhang Yang gave Li Jindong a meaningful look, then glanced at He Shan. Yeah, we’re even—don’t dig further.

To be honest, He Shan wasn’t bad-looking. Not as stunning as her sister, but above average—nice figure too. More importantly, her shy, pitiful demeanor made her the type to trigger a musclehead’s protective instincts.

Sure enough, Li Jindong was cornered. He gave Zhang Yang a helpless look and said, “No wonder you promised to help with my grad school stuff. Fine, I admit defeat. Oh, and I heard you got yourself a villa? Damn, you’ve made it. When are you treating us to dinner?”

Zhang Yang thought about it. He had been busy lately and hadn’t hung out with the guys in ages. It was about time for a get-together. But inviting them to the villa? That’d be chaos. There were too many top-tier women living there—one visit and those guys’ worldviews would collapse.

“How about this weekend?” Zhang Yang decided. These guys were half-talents from their university—flawed, sure, but loyal and trustworthy. They’d definitely be helpful for his future company. Especially Liu Qing—that guy was a real researcher. As for Zhou Wei… maybe he could star in an AV instead?

After chatting for a while, Li Jindong got a call from his father and quickly left. Under Gao Qi’s insistence, He Shan shyly followed to see him off.

Now, only Zhang Yang, Gao Qi, and the still-unconscious He Ting were left in the room.

The old man looked almost normal now. His wounds were healing, but he still needed help with eating and washing. Zhang Yang and the sisters spent over two hours finishing everything—it was exhausting. Doing it alone would’ve been brutal.

Zhang Yang wiped his sweat. He was tired, but the system rewarded him with two points. His total was now thirty-seven—getting closer to fifty.

“Thank you, Zhang Yang.” Gao Qi took advantage of He Shan’s absence and, for once, spoke seriously.

Zhang Yang looked at her and smiled. “Silly girl, do we really need to be so polite?”

“Of course! If any man had done this for me before, I’d have offered myself to him out of gratitude.”

Zhang Yang gave her a speechless look. “So if it’s me, you won’t?”

“Hmph, you’ve already fucked me—what’s left to offer? Besides, I never planned to marry you anyway.” Gao Qi glanced at the clock. “When my sister gets back, we’ll go buy some stuff for tonight.”

“I’ll go. You stay and rest.” Zhang Yang stood up. “What do you need?”

“Some snacks... for a late-night meal... hmm... no, I’ll go with you,” Gao Qi said suddenly, looking shy.

Zhang Yang looked at her suspiciously, then his gaze drifted down to her pale thighs under the short black skirt. “Period?”

“Of course not.” Gao Qi smacked him, leaned close, and whispered in his ear, biting gently, “You’re staying with me tonight, remember? Don’t forget to buy some condoms.”

Zhang Yang froze, glancing down her open neckline at those pale, full curves. He swallowed hard. He was hard already.

“Got it.” Zhang Yang grinned ear to ear as he headed to the door, then turned back and whispered, “But I don’t like wearing those.”

“Get lost!” Gao Qi grabbed a cushion and hurled it at him.
