The two huge Yokai clash fists, the shockwaves destroying the nearby building glass.
Neveil spins the van, driving away.
“Whose house is the closest?!”
Melissa grabs her head.
“Mine!”
Neveil drives the van towards Melissa’s house, flooring it.
“Melissa, can’t you build us armor for the van?” asks Devan.
Melissa looks down, rubbing the back of her neck.
“No…”
Devan looks at her, his face showing confusion.
“Huh, what the fuck you mean no?!”
Melissa frowns.
“Uhh, well honestly, I’m in school for a PhD in History… I realized that the things I wanted in robotics aren’t possible to build…”
Neveil looks back.
“Man, what!?”
Devan slams his hands on the armrest.
“What about the hand, and the auto-tracking arm?!”
“Well, you see… I watched a few videos on those…”
Devan grabs Melissa and shakes her.
“What the hell!! You fucking fraud!!!!”
“I’m not a fraud!!”
“Yes, you are, you bum!!”
Neveil swerves into Melissa’s house, digging up dirt.
“Alright, what we gonna do?”
Melissa rubs her neck.
“Well, we could, uhh… I don’t know… call on a demon for help…”
Devan slams his hands.
“We don’t practice witchcraft!!”
Melissa rolls her eyes.
“Whatever.”
Melissa claps her hands together.
“Well, simply wait for the Skeleton to win, then deadlock it.”
Devan strokes his chin.
“Who says it’s gonna win?”
Melissa grinned.
“They’ll win, I promise.”
Melissa’s watch goes off.
“Oh?”
She pulls out a pill bottle labeled estrogen, and takes a pill, putting it away.
They heard a tap on the window.
They looked and saw nothing.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Melissa drew her sword.
Neveil’s door flies open, as a white arm grabs him and pulls him away.
“Fuck…”
Devan pulls out his pistol, but his hands begin shaking.
Melissa jumps out. She swings her sword at the arm, slicing through half of it.
It quickly pulls away.
A tall white figure takes its place.
“Hello there, Melissa, right? Back together again with a new guy. Melissa, you should be dead.”
Hachishakusama smiles.
Devan gets out; he shoots her, causing her to reflexively begin to retreat.
Devan stops shooting as Neveil runs over and grabs her legs.
“Come on, Melissa!”
Melissa lifts up her hand, firing a flare, but…
“Ahh!”
The glove explodes on her hand as the flare touches the woman.
Melissa has minor burns on her hands, but she shakes it off. She runs with her sword over to Hachishakusama, and slices off her regenerated arm.
“You stupid bitch!”
Melissa smirks.
“What, you scared?”
Melissa ducks, just as Devan shoots Hachishakusama in the face, blasting it off. It starts to regenerate; Devan repeats it again, and again, and again.
Neveil lifts up Melissa as she swings her sword, the force not being enough to fully decapitate her due to her stance not being proper.
Neveil lowers her as Devan shoots Hachishakusama in the neck, shattering her spinal cord. Neveil lifts Melissa back up, allowing her to slice fully through the neck.
Neveil throws Melissa off.
“Uhh, I ain’t never putting you on my shoulder again.”
Melissa stands up and stomps her foot.
“I could’ve died! I had my sword in my hand!”
Neveil rolls his eyes.
“If you would’ve died from that, you’d be a liability.”
Melissa sighs.
Suddenly, the ground starts rumbling.
The three of them look back.
The Hōnengyo and Gashadokuro followed close to each other.
Melissa shook.
“They’re working together… that… that can’t be right.”
They all sprinted to the van.
“We just gotta get to my house, I got a plan!” Neveil yells.
They jump into the van.
Devan, in the driver seat, floors it.
“We just gotta make it to Neveil’s house; it’s only about 10–20 minutes away.”
The two massive Yokai chase behind the van.
The Hōnengyo charges up. It sucks in the air; however, due to the lack of extreme pollution unlike deeper into the city, the breath lacks power. However, it still fires.
Devan swerves the wheel.
“Shit!!!”
It smashes the ground to the side, causing the van to lift slightly, slamming in front of them.
Melissa begins to breathe heavily.
“That was close…”
Devan grits his teeth.
“Hey, Mel… uhh, wanna tell a story?”
Melissa looks up.
“Well, once there was a boy. He was sad, alone; he thought no one cared about him, but he gained friends who did care about him. Somehow, he always doubted the smallest things, causing him to think they didn’t care about him.”
Melissa started shaking.
“He began to isolate himself from them, but one or two of them beat some sense into him. It didn’t change his mind, but he began to hide it better. The end.”
Melissa grabbed her hair.
“That’s it…”
Devan cackled.
“You tell stories so bad out loud. Stick to writing them down, but nice story.”
Melissa smiled.
“Thank you…”
As they continue, after a little while, they arrive at Neveil’s house.
They jump out.
Neveil throws them the shotguns out the back.
“Ok, hold them off while I go get the big guns!”
Neveil runs inside.
The oversized Yokai approach, but they notice that the Hōnengyo was mangled: the arm it clashed with, the chest…
Melissa smiles.
“I guess its body doesn’t match up with its raw power.”
Devan smiles.
“Yeah…”
They rapid-fire with the shotguns, lighting the Hōnengyo up. It was littered with holes.
Melissa frowns.
“How does this thing even walk? It’s too big; it should be rapidly expanding heat.”
Devan looks over to her.
“That’s what you’re worrying about right now?”
Melissa frowns.
“You’re right.”
They continue to fire.
Both held at bay, but only one takes damage.
Neveil runs out, holding an RPG.
Neveil drops to one knee and fires. It goes up to the Hōnengyo, blowing through its midsection, causing it to lose its odd coloration, and instead turn into human corpses stacked on each other—but the corpses had no bones, just stacks of meat bags.
Melissa covers her mouth as she gags.
Neveil loads up the second and final rocket.
Neveil fires, and it lands; however, the Gashadokuro bones rattle but show no visible damage.
Melissa grips her sword…
Just as electricity sparkles through a nearby power line.
