Chapter 35: Plan

  Chapter 35: Plan

Rouge was on his knee praying. Each church has their own way to pray, the Silver Moon used to have their mystics pray by kneeling with a sword in hand, but now they usually pray without a sword.

All mystics in the agency had gathered on the central platform. Everyone watched as Rouge prayed to their goddess. Ms. Silver was still holding a training sword.

She knelled and took the old prayer stance. The others kneeled and awaited further instruction from either, the saintess, Mr. Rouge, or the goddess. Even Shade kneeled and looked at the ground.

Rouge was mumbling something which the others couldn’t hear. It was a conversation between him and the goddess.

Moments later, the silver fishes in the temple moved in a circle. They followed the outline of the platform the mystics was currently praying on.

The fishes suddenly started to glimmer ethereally. And the mystics could feel a change. Shade felt warm. He felt at peace. He shifted his attention to Judgement and Magician.

The two of them was quiet, almost too quiet compared to moments before… What happened to them? Are they praying?

Shade suddenly felt spirituality form around him. He decided to not focus on Judgement and Magician for the time being.

  “Stand.”

An ethereal voice filled Shade’s ears, and he followed the instructions it gave. It was a voice full of authority and power. Shade easily recognized the voice.

He could feel the emotions she put in her words… This is the first time I have heard her being angry.

  “You found them?”

She directed the question to Rouge with an ethereal voice. Her words were direct. She didn’t care for anything except the information Rouge could deliver.

“Not yet, my goddess. However, we may have found a way to locate them, at the very least find their hiding spot.”

Rouge had a weird tone to his voice. He sounded angry but he suppressed his emotions. Rouge started explaining that if she chooses to help, they could locate bait buildings.

The ethereal being thought for a moment. She had no qualms about helping her mystics, but she wanted to be thorough. She spoke with authority.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

  “What would you do after?”

Rouge looked up at the being that had made herself visible by the power of the temple. She had stepped down from her heavenly silver palace in the night sky and came down to speak to her followers.

He answered with conviction, he made his bloodlust clear for all to hear.

“We will raid the buildings one by one, then divinate. If we find their hiding spot, we will call upon the reinforcement of other churches and sects to kill as many of them as possible, none will escape, none will be spared.”

The ethereal being in a silvery dress made of starlight looked at the mystics in front of her. Her gaze landed on a young man in purple who stood at the back, looking dumbfounded.

Shade noticed the anger in his captain’s voice but did not understand why he was angry. He had noticed Ms. Astral’s and Mr. Zephyr’s clenched fists and body language, but he did not understand why they were so filled with rage.

Magician decided to enlighten him… Don’t you remember? Those three survived the slaughter of the whole branch. Looking at their reactions, it was most likely done by Gourmet.

Shade gulped. After being reminded by Mr. Magician, he now understood why those three acted the way they did… So much has happened in in a short amount of time. I forgot something this important. Damn it!

The goddess looked even deeper within Shade. She saw the two characteristics with sentience. She thought for a moment and then spoke with an ethereal voice for all to hear.

“Shade, this is a vendetta between our sect and an enemy sect. You are new, you may sit this one out.”

Shade eye’s reflected one of if not the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her silver hair fluttered by a soft ethereal wind.

Her dress was in the same theme as her sky palace, silver surrounded by spotted darkness. To call her a princess of a forgotten kingdom would describe her well.

Judgement decided to speak… Sit this one out. There will be other opportunities.

Magician chimed in… Agreed. You are much stronger than any mystic would be after only 2 weeks as a mystic. But you lack skill and experience, if I understand that, you should as well.

Shade remained quiet, he watched the floating goddess in front of him, and he noticed the gazes of the two saint characteristics within him. He spoke at a volume which only he and his characteristics would hear.

“If it was the two of you making this choice, what option would you pick?”

Shade knew what the two of them would have chosen. One was a knight of another century, one that still wished to serve his goddess in any way possible.

The other was character, a persona which Shade created subconsciously to handle everything in the mystical world. He would run headfirst with absolute confidence if the goddess asked.

While Mr. Magician wasn’t a pious believer, he was still one of the mystics under the silver moon goddess and a detective of the Silver Moon Private Detective Agency.

Shade took a step forward, he was bathed in ethereal silver light emitted by the silver goddess.

He knelled as a sign of respect. He placed his left hand on the floor and right hand on his chest.

“My Lady, I wish to participate. I may not have been the most pious believer, but I am still one of your mystics. If this is the silver moons vendetta, then it is mine as well.”

The silver goddess nodded. While she did not show it, she appreciated Shade’s words.

“Good! I will lend my aid in this endeavor.”

The silver goddess shifted her gaze, and she looked at Mr. Rouge and Ms. Silver.

“Make sure that not one of them remains.”

  “YES!”

The saintess and the captain bowed as they answered simultaneously.
