Pov: Vik
I soon reached a mountain path deep in the mountains, where two stone blocks were placed on either side of the path. They read “Heaven Suppressing Zone.” I didn’t know that language, but I could still read it. Once I rescue my disciple, I will definitely study this language.
After a short distance, I arrived at what looked like an ancient village. Many armed men were there, holding swords, hammers, and axes. In the middle of them stood Lin Chen, wielding a black sword. In front of him were Lu Xiaoran and Roman, both injured and barely able to stand, bound in chains. Seeing them like this stirred something deep within me, and I immediately attacked the crowd.
Soon, all that could be heard were screams. The armed men who had just been holding their weapons moments before were now fleeing in terror, yelling that a giant snake was attacking them.
Pov: Third person
Just a few minutes before Vik attacked Lin Chen and his group, the forest was completely silent. In the midst of this silence stood Lu Xiaoran and Roman, facing a group of over 30 people, with Lin Chen at the forefront.
The old man who had pushed them into this situation by chasing them stood beside Lin Chen. This was clearly a trap he had set, but they stood tall, showing no weakness. Looking Lin Chen in the eyes, Lu Xiaoran and Roman held their ground. Lin Chen smiled at their defiance.
Walking up to them, he said, “Welcome back to my trap, Lu Xiaoran. This time, I’m making sure our feud ends here.”
Roman’s expression turned cautious as he scanned the area for a possible escape route, but he found nothing. If he had his spiritual energy, he could have fought back, but now they were just mortals.
Lu Xiaoran, however, showed no sign of fear. With a confident smile, he said, “I expect nothing less from a coward. Even with the heavens themselves suppressing our cultivation, you still brought a dozen men. You are truly pathetic; I’m sure you even take them with you when you go to the bathroom.”
Lin Chen’s smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure and replied, “You talk a lot, but your words won’t save you from me. Lu Xiaoran, this is just like last time. I remember preparing an ambush for you on that mountain road. Once again, you have no cultivation.”
Not losing his composure, Lu Xiaoran smiled and said, “Alright, if you really want to end our feud, why don’t we settle this with a one-on-one fight? The loser dies, while the winner lives.”

Lin Chen’s expression turned fiery at Lu Xiaoran’s words, as if two warriors were eager for a duel. With a killing intent blazing in his eyes, he said, “If you want to die that badly, I can surely grant your wish. As a former classmate, it’s the least I can do for you.”
The old man beside Lin Chen looked at Lu Xiaoran with disdain and said, “Do you really think you stand on equal ground with our young master? Even if our young master sees you as an enemy, you are nothing but trash on the roadside. Don’t even dare to challenge our master to a duel; just die like the insect you are.”
Turning to Lin Chen, he continued, “Young master, reconsider the challenge from this insignificant pest. We have much to do and no time for this. You may see him as your enemy, but remember, you are now the young master of the Lin family. Our family is one of the strongest on this continent. If people find out you have enemies like this, your reputation could suffer.”
Lu Xiaoran clenched his fists as the old man denied him the chance to fight Lin Chen and buy some time. Yes, he needed to buy time. While Roman attempted to find a way to escape, Lu Xiaoran aimed to stall for just a few minutes. They had received a message through their system watch that their master would arrive in a short while.
He decided to challenge Lin Chen to gain those crucial moments, but now, influenced by the old man’s words, Lin Chen wore an arrogant expression as he said, “Yes, you’re right. Can a dragon soaring in the sky be an enemy of an insect that crawls on the ground? Earlier, I didn’t know my true identity, so I thought of you as an enemy. But now that I know who I am, I see you as nothing but a nuisance. Sorry, but if I weren’t occupied with something important, I would gladly talk more with you. Now, however, you must die.”
With that, he pulled out a sword, and both Roman and Lu Xiaoran prepared for a fight. But the old man, using the little spiritual energy he had, made them kneel as their bodies grew heavy. Just as Lin Chen was about to attack them, a swift shadow lunged toward him and knocked him far away with a single hit.
The screams erupted from the dozen men who had been mocking them moments before; they yelled that a large snake was attacking. Lu Xiaoran looked at the assailant, a large snake with ashen white scales and golden eyes that had come to their rescue. Their master was taking down those men who had trapped them, while the old man ran toward Lin Chen, who lay unconscious after being hit by Vik’s tail.
Seeing this, the old man hoisted Lin Chen onto his shoulder and bolted to get his young master out of danger, while the Lin men fled for their lives. In just a few minutes, only three people remained: Vik and his two disciples.
Vik looked at his disciples and, still in snake form, asked, “Are you both alright?”
They both nodded, and he continued, “Then let’s get out of here. I can’t open a spatial portal due to the suppression in this area, so we need to run. I don’t have a good feeling about this place; we will come back after we prepare.”
With that, they all moved toward the edge of the forest, escaping the confines of the Heaven Suppressing Zone.
