Back in the Cave City, Cassandra is berating Lana about inventory space.
"We can't keep taking up space for inventory with all of your sci-fi mumbo jumbo.
Maybe you haven't realized this is a cave, only so much space available," Cassandra angrily shouts.
Lana shouts back in turn, "They are not taking up that much space, and besides, they will help us be more efficient and another thing...."
Cassandra interrupts her as she notices over her shoulder that Lana's Geeryo tablet has activated and is flashing an ominous message. "Lana..... what's that?" she says nervously.
Lana looks around, and one word tells Cassandra this is not a good situation.
Lana, calmly, but seriously says, "Fuck!"
She rushes to the terminal. "Someone's trying to hack into the Geeryo Equipment, to try to gain coordinate lock on them. Lana desperately explains.
"They are trying to hack into your system? To do what, spy on us?" Cassadandra asks
"No, they are not looking for just IPs; they are trying to find physical coordinates, only one reason, a targeting system." Lana frantically says.
Cassandra's eyes widen in shock as she grasps what Lana is saying.
The Ponu scientist goes on, "If I had to guess, I'd say it's a satellite, maybe orbital bombardment."
Cassandra's face whitens. "What the fuck!"
Lana looks around in a panic. Too little time to evacuate, the next second, a blast could come, destroying the cave.
She barks out her order, "Cassandra, bring any Ponu women with computer experience NOW!"
Cassandra moves like the wind, with her knowledge of everyone's specialty, she quickly gathers 3 Ponu women computer specialists, ranging from a woman with advanced degrees from MIT to another who took an online course once.
Lana tells Cassandra to bring Marcela, too. Marcela arrives moments later and is shocked to see Lana in such a frantic state. She asks what's wrong. Not enough time to explain, Lana only says they could all die in moments, and she wants Marcela to be with her if that happens. Marcela's eyes open wider in shock.
Lana barks orders to the women. The woman to her left, Erin, is told what to do, but Lana looks back at Marcela momentarily with a concerned look.

Back in the geeryo transport, "Two" happily looks on at the death and destruction she is about to cause. She can hardly wait. Destroying the cave city will open up so many possibilities for her Geeryo masters in this world. As soon, she thinks, as these misfits are wiped from the face of the earth, more of their sisters can be brought back into the fold.
"Two" looks at the lock acquisition data and realizes something is going wrong.
"They are fighting it; they know what I'm doing. Too little too late," as she giggles, amused by their desperate struggle to stay alive. She uploads a series of commands that she didn't think would be necessary.
The screens the women are working on in the cave lose contact feedback from the satellite itself. Lana tells her crew, "They know what we're doing; we're working blind now. Erin, is the injection done?"
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
"I don't know," Erin says, "There's no way to know if the code was accepted or not."
"Two" sees the screen say lock acquired, firing, a smile comes across her face. Boom, you're dead assholes".
That same second, Lana asks Erin again frantically, "Have you done it?" Erin only looks back at her with a concerned face. Lana pulls Marcela close. There is no more typing on tablets frantically trying to stop their deaths. There is only the comfort in hopefully a few seconds to be with their loved ones. Erin's face looks ghostly, eyes watery with the thought of her failure. Cassandra, watching, has the look of someone frozen solid with fear.
Moments later, the explosion happens. It can be witnessed from miles around. "Two" is killed instantly, as well as the geeryo man and geeryo woman. The transport and everything around it is nothing but a smaller crater at the point of impact.
Erin had successfully injected new code into the satellite, making it fire not at the target but fire at the location of the system that initiated the process, the Geeryo transport.
The explosion is so powerful that it knocks everyone down in the camp during the battle, and the Dowaths hovering nearby are knocked back also. They see a large cloud of smoke arising from the location of the transport.
Drookan takes a chance. He does not know what the explosion was from, but he can guess it was the transport. Perhaps Dana and Lana were right that the device would be there. If he were wrong, and the siren was portable, and still on the battlefield, then he was about to fly directly into a painful death in moments.
Seeing the state of the camp defenders, he has no choice. He says now is the time to attack. The others follow his lead.
To the weary combatants picking themselves up off the ground, unsure of what just happened, the sight of the Dowaths landing in the midst of the battle completely flips the circumstances.
With the strength of the Dowath, the battle is no longer in doubt. What was once a sure victory for the Elite Geeryo Ponu turns into a desperate scramble for their lives.
Dana and JaKaelath lead the assault of the Cave Ponu while Drookan and the Dowath wreak havoc. Kallian's Red Band and Joric's local scavengers add to the attack as well.
Dmeko, the Dowath sister of Dmoko and friend of Drookan, finds the metallic ball, itself blown into the rubble but still operational. One stomp from her massive, clawed foot destroys the device.
The surviving members of the 100 mind-controlled Ponu used as cannon fodder by the Geeryo elite begin to return to normal. Most are in shock, with wounds from the battle while they were being controlled.
"One" herself falls to her knees with her hands raised in a sign of surrender. Everything has changed for her in literally minutes. "Two" is dead, the geeryo man and geeryo woman also, not to mention the transport destroyed, the siren destroyed. The 100, now free of geeryo control. Even the metallic ball, their link to the Geeryo masters, destroyed. Her shame is absolute in her failure.
"One" catches the attention of Dana, walking through the carnage, still in awe at what has happened. The blonde woman shouts out, "We lost this battle, you didn't win it, traitor. There is a difference in that if your mind is not too clouded to understand."
Dana looks at her, then around at the destruction and death caused here and how "One" zealously caused it. A thought sent a shudder to her that this could be her, or any of her friends in the cave if Geeryo got their way. Nothing but a servant willing to kill anyone, destroy anything to serve the will of their "masters". "Who were you, what were you before they did this to you?" she thinks. She walks away with more pity in her eyes for the woman known as "One".
