Chapter 24 — The Witch’s Tears

Maugrim’s roar echoed like thunder. But the three siblings were already ready.

Valquíria charged from the left, her warhammer raised like judgment itself. Luiz from the right, his spear trembling with pure fury. Lukas in the center, his twin gladii burning — one in gold, the other in violet shadow.

The final strike was a symphony.

The right gladius pierced the heart. Lukas pulled upward, tearing through ribs and flesh. Luiz’s spear ripped through the neck, twisting clean in a flawless arc. Valquíria’s hammer crushed the flying skull, scattering bone and teeth like stardust.

Maugrim’s body collapsed. His blood turned to black smoke.

They stood for a few seconds longer, gasping for breath. Lukas glanced at the other two.

  — That was… beautiful, wasn’t it?

Luiz grinned. — That was legendary.

Valquíria still gripped her hammer tight. — It was worth it.

Their auras began to fade. First Valquíria’s emerald. Then Luiz’s crimson. And last, the golden light and violet darkness of Lukas, merging before vanishing.

The three of them collapsed together, side by side.

Above, Morgana fell to her knees. — No… no, no, no!

The King’s voice thundered inside her mind:

  — I forbid you—

  — Shut up! — she screamed. — I won’t just stand and watch!

Tears streamed down her face. — Even if you hate me… I’ll bring you back, Lukas. Because… I love you.

She opened her hands and invoked an ancient spell. Golden and violet light wrapped around the three.

The world itself began to crack. The Tower trembled, collapsing in on itself.

Lukas heard César’s voice in his mind:

  — Boy… maybe this time… we’ll make it.

  The light consumed everything.
