Hey everyone, QuiteTheSlacker here! It's been a long time coming, but I wanted to tell you all that I released a new story! I've been working on it since around October, but only started posting it recently after putting the final touches on the worldbuilding and plot. It's called Starry-Eyed Hero which is centered around a magical academy and is much less darker in tone than Mr. Rose, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and hopefully it can be a little palate cleanser for the more heavy parts of Lucius's adventures. Don't worry about the current story being delayed—chapters will release at the same schedule as it always has. I've been working on both of them concurrently anyway so my workload hasn't changed at all. We're also nearing the end of book 2, which is very exciting! In the next 2-3 months, Lucius's journey in the World of Charlemagne will finally come to a grand conclusion.
If you can, please give Starry-Eyed Hero a quick read and follow/favorite/honest rating if you like what you what you see. There's currently about 25k words released, with each chapter being around the same length as a typical post in Mr. Rose. I'm really not good at self-promoting and this probably reads a bit awkward, but I'd like to try and get this story to Rising Stars, so any support would mean the world to me.
Thank you for listening to this whole spiel, and I hope you enjoy both stories! I'll post the promo for Starry-Eyed Hero below.
Warm regards,
QuiteTheSlacker

Ten year old Astra has always dreamed of reaching the stars.
As a humble farm boy living in the countryside, Astra's been surrounded by forests and flowing rivers his entire life. It's a routine full of family fun, community, and good ol' hard work... but sometimes, he'd lay on the grass at night and gaze out toward those bright stars above.
He'd reach out with his hands, and he felt a yearning to see them: to form a bond crossed in starlight, regardless of the vast space between. Thus was a wish sent to the cosmos. One day, he too would shine just as bright.
That opportunity would soon come in the form of a galaxy-wide competition for the chance to enter the most prestigious school in the milky way, Excelsior Academy, where noble children from the kingdoms of the Twelve Constellations are raised to become leaders, trailblazers, and most importantly warriors against meteoric monsters from beyond the universe. The encroaching crawl of the Constellars.
Astra doesn't have a special bloodline, belong to a royal house, nor is he the chosen one. But against all these kids with powerful backgrounds and fated destinies, Astra has only one wish.
To shine bright as a starry-eyed hero.
