Chapter 1: Vanquished

“MY LORD!” A woman cried, piercing through to Zach, jolting him awake, it felt as though he'd fallen and crashed into his own body. Like waking up from a bad dream. Everything throbbed and ached for a moment as he felt himself return to reality.

He opened his eyes and looked around, struggling to focus on the blurry figure looking down at him, the flickering of red light danced around the tall arched roof. Zach felt his head was resting on something soft and fluffy, two soft and fluffy things actually. He stirred and rolled onto his side to get more comfortable, closing his eyes again. They were jiggly but firm, almost thigh-like in their consistency if one was to guess.

“Tired…” Zach muttered, he felt aggressively hungover, his head throbbing with each pulse of his heart, his body numb and stomach upset, everything was spinning still. His memories of where he was and what he had done before going to sleep had not returned to him yet.

“My lord… a-are... you okay?” The woman cried between uncontrollable sobs, Zach didn’t recognize her voice, it sounded young, highschooler young. Zach bolted upright in a panic and suddenly began clenching his stomach in pain. He felt something cold and metallic jutting out of his stomach painfully.

Looking down, Zach saw a glistening white sword with glowing cyan runes. Wincing in pain, he saw this sword had been firmly stabbed into his bloodied stomach. Turning back, he saw the woman had a pair of horns growing from the top of her head, the legs of a satyr and long flowing bat-like wings draped on the floor coming from her hips.

“My lord, allow me.” A deep growling voice declared dutifully, Zach turned, looking up to where the voice had come from. A massive man in draconic armour, the only part of his face that was visible was a singular glowing red eye glaring directly at the confused man. Zach could only stay seated and gawk as the demonic knight pulled the sword out of his stomach.

Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt. Though the pool of blood that had started forming in his lap was getting quite uncomfortable.

“Y-your eminence? A-are you going to h-heal yourself?” The woman asked anxiously, wiping away tears from her eyes quickly. Unbeknownst to Zach, her eyes had narrowed into a glare.

“I uh, yeah.” Zach mumbled, utterly baffled at what was happening still as he clasped his stomach. Nothing happened of course. Zach’s mind was racing with too many questions to even accidentally cast a spell.

The moment of silence stretched into seconds as Zach continued to bleed over the previously spotless carpet, with the man and woman staring down at him.

The woman looked towards the demonic knight and the pair nodded in unison before subtly casting a heal spell on their lord. The spell began sealing up the wound instantly as bleary eyed Zach tried remembering what happened before passing out.

“Was I drinking? No, the last thing I remember was being at work, woke up, got dressed, forgot to brush my teeth so ate a bunch of mints on the tram in, checked some messages on my phone while walking through the warehouse…” Zach thought as he was unceremoniously lifted up by both the demonic knight and woman.

“Can you still walk my lord?” The woman asked seriously, the bawling concern having entirely evaporated away. Zach said nothing and gingerly tried to take a step, his legs felt wrong, his whole body felt wrong, like he was in a dream. This body didn’t feel as if it was fully his, like his senses were no longer fully connected with the world.

“Yeah, yeah.” Zach mumbled as he stumbled forward. For the first time, he properly looked at the large hall he’d awoken in, head pulsing as he was assisted by the knight and the woman.

It was a massive throne room, 6 banners hung on each wall with their own geometric crests, a long carpet stretching from the massive doorway to the equally massive throne.

The throne was built from the bones and weaponry, all stained with the blood of heroes and demons.

“Is this a dream?” Zach thought as he looked around, it didn’t feel like he was really in this place, but it certainly looked and smelt like he was; the stench of rancid blood had begun to pool his nostrils. Involuntarily retching, Zach keeled over, the scent of death overwhelmed everything in this throne room. The demonic knight scoffed and walked ahead through the giant doors, leaving the woman with Zach.

“Lord… Perhaps it’s best if you retire to your chambers.” The woman explained, gingerly grabbing Zach by the hand and leading him onwards. Zach coughed and gagged as he struggled to escape the overwhelming musk.

“This can’t be real. I was just at work, I took the short cut through the warehouse… I didn’t make it through the warehouse did I? Someone was shouting and then something fell on me, on my head I think? I must’ve been knocked out then. Is this just a coma then?” Zach frantically thought as he was dragged from the bloodied throne room and into the grand hall of the Demon Lord’s Castle.

It was gigantic, like an indoor city that stretched high enough that clouds hid the roof and sunk low enough that darkness enveloped the floor, an open atrium of immense scale that forced Zach to stop and breathe it in. The fact it didn’t smell terrible also helped.

He broke free of the woman's ginger grasp and walked to the balcony where an immense glass stained painting dominated the skyline.

The window was split into three distinct thirds, the bottom depicting the fiery red hell of the Demon Realm, the middle was the Earthly Realm in green and blues and the top third was the Heavenly Realm depicted as pure white.

11 Figures were in the Demon Realm surrounding an impossibly huge demonic form. The demonic form was holding a sword upwards that stretched nearly the entire height of the window. The sword pierced the heavens, blood dripping down its pure black form from the land of pure white.

The woman stood just behind Zach and rolled her eyes as she watched him struggle to take in the scale of the Demon Lord’s Castle.

Slowly Zach turned his head and began looking around to the surrounding balconies. He saw an innumerable number of monsters running around the various walkways, flying from floor to floor or crawling up small pathways. Most of them were cleaning up the corpses of other monsters, others carrying packages, the rest making their way to be reassigned duties.

Looking to his left, he saw the pathway was crumbling, being quickly repaired by boney demons and strange mollusc looking creatures, the wall had been set ablaze, leaving only the charred remnants of some unfortunate creature.

To the right, the demonic knight with dragonbone armour walked away, the white sword with cyan runes held carefully at his side as the many creatures of the Demon Lord’s castle scattered from his path. With a quiet groan the woman got Zach’s attention with a cough.

“Remarkable isn’t it my lord?” The woman said with a fake smile as she joined him by the balcony.

“Y-yeah.” Zach nodded as he kept looking around, his eyes suddenly focusing onto an unconscious human woman being dragged into one of the many rooms of the Demon Lord’s castle.

She was on the 4th floor while Zach was on the 15th, and on the opposite side of this football stadium sized building.

“Who’s she?” Zach asked, pointing towards where the woman was. The woman let out a haughty laugh as she squinted to try and figure out what he was talking about.

“Oh my lord you’re so funny, that’s one of those petulant heroes, though you knew that already.” The woman teased as she dragged Zach away, ending the conversation before he could ask anything else.

“Heroes? Petulant? There’s monsters everywhere, a freaky looking church window and whatever this woman is...” Zach felt a rush of thoughts attempting to figure everything out, wondering if he was dreaming, hallucinating, in a coma, all circling around one idea he didn’t dare consider.

But as he was dragged through the halls of the castle, he saw things that didn’t make sense unless this was that scenario.

To his left he saw paintings depicting spells like video game icons, to his right a pair of dark elf maids bowing as he made his way past, turning a corner there were shelves of books, with one shelf being slightly ajar revealing a hidden room where a treasure chest had been looted, the bloodied foot prints of a large group of people being cleaned by a lamia maid.

“Surely this is just a dream, a really, really vivid dream.” Zach thought in disbelief as a horrifying realisation began to dawn on him, he didn’t want to dare dare consider the possibility that this may not be a dream.

But as he walked through the halls of the castle, being dragged by a beautiful demonic woman who called him lord, the halls with monstrous maids bowing before him, the dungeon-like design of this castle and the only reasonable explanation for what happened after he was hit on the head with a box that by all means could've crushed his skull.

There seemed to be but one conclusion, one which Zach could only wish wasn’t true.

The woman dragged him through a large door and into an opulent space, trophies, artwork, sculptures of various accomplishments being strung up in the barely used bedroom.

“I’ll send for a maid when the rest of the Devil Knights are ready to convene my lord.” The demonic woman explained formally, she bowed and turned around, the flowing bat wings drooped from her back, acting like a mini skirt as they folded around her waist.

She quickly closed the door and planted a small bug on the outside of the door, leaving the now heavily breathing Zach to his own devices as he stood completely still for a few moments.

Suddenly Zach looked around, seeing a bathroom mirror in an attached room. He quickly stumbled into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, his stomach dropping as the cold hard reality of the situation finally hit him.

“This is a fucking Isekai isn’t it.” Zach laughed exasperatedly, clutching his forehead with cold metallic hands as he leaned over the sink. His laugh was one of fear, anxiety, confusion and a hint of excitement.

He stared at himself blankly, his new face was some kind of cartoonish man. Opening and closing his mouth, twisting his face as much as he could, it was like looking through a filter of himself on an app, but he could feel that his face was moving differently than it was supposed to

  This wasn’t him.

Zach was a nerd, a skinny nerd who sat in his room playing video games after work.

Zach was a human, not this blue-skinned demon with the musculature of a 80s shounen protagonist.

Once the initial shock wore off, Zach was able to calm down enough to start thinking through his situation a bit more clearly.

Because if Zach was anything still, he was genre savvy.

He was clearly in some kind of Isekai fantasy world, but what kind?

  Was it serious?

  Was it all a joke?

Was that woman going to kill him later?

Was this the start to some harem with whacky comedy?

Was this even an Isekai anime?

Maybe he’d been sent to a JRPG.

Maybe this was some other kind of fantasy world.

Maybe he really was just in a coma still.

Zach pushed himself away from the sink and entered the bedroom and began pacing around.

“If this is an Isekai, why me?” Zach mumbled, his posture still low and meek.

“I’m not Japanese, I’m not a hikineet, I have a job for god's sake…” Zach muttered as he began pacing around the room, looking down and clutching the back of his head as he felt the stress rising.

“... I have friends, family. I’m not a loser with nothing back home I fucking liked it there…” Zach exclaimed more authoritatively now as he started looking forward, still pacing around the room in his new, giant and muscular body.

“AND FUCK DON’T TELL ME I DIED WITHOUT EVEN A FUCKING GIRLFRIEND?! Don’t you fucking tell me that’s why I got sent here?! I could’ve got one I’m not like one of those fucking losers!” Zach shouted, the thought he had died a virgin at the ripe age of 23 was filling him with a certain kind of rage and despair he hadn’t fully anticipated.

The door leading to the main hallway reverberated from all the shouting, though thanks to a series of hexes no noise was able to escape.

  ...

Of course, the small bug that had been planted earlier was still able to listen just fine. Its antenna vibrated as it transported the sound from one side of the Demon Lord’s Castle to the other, where the woman with satyr legs and bat wings listened in, her face stuck grimacing.

Her name was Lillithvin and she was the Operations Manager of the Demon Lord’s vast kingdom and 2nd in command of the Devil Knights, only 2nd to the Demon Lord himself.

“Yep, definitely from the other side.” She sighed as she threw the bug onto the table. She planted her face into her forearms and groaned dramatically to the empty meeting room.

The room was large, with a long lacquered black oak table with 12 seats. The walls were draped in maps of territories currently being contested in the Earthly Realm. Various magical items were scattered around the room, with only one entrance at the far end of the table opposite where the Demon Lord typically sat.

She pondered the situation for a moment before the demonic knight with dragonbone armour entered the room, the white sword now properly contained in an emergency chest with enough demonic runes, sigils, hexes, runes and pentagrams to contain even the most powerful of angels.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Nuhades, the 3rd in command of the Devil Knights, the general of the most powerful standing army in the 3 realms of Regaila and its most powerful soldier, 2nd only to the Demon Lord himself of course.

“Nuhadessssss, he’s not our lord… He’s from the otherside.” Lillithvin whined, lifting her face up only slightly from her despair. Nuhades scoffed as he took a seat.

“I fail to see the issue, our lord has made preparations for such an eventuality.” Nuhades replied dryly, placing his arms on the table and clasping his hands together, the small spark of fear he felt being smothered by centuries of training.

“But this guy sounds soooo annoying! I hate him already, why can’t we just kill him already?” Lillithvin pouted, crossing her arms and turning her head away from Nuhades.

“You suggest we kill our lord?” Nuhades asked seriously. Lillithvin rolled her eyes.

“No bones for brains, kill the stupid soul that has taken our lord's body.” Lillithvin scoffed, flicking the bug towards Nuhades who listened to it.

“WHY COULDN’T I JUST KEEP MY D-” Zach whined, blissfully unaware he was being spied on as he went through the stages of grief.

Nuhades continued to listen stoically as two more Devil Knights entered the room.

“Despite the pathetic soul that seems to have stolen our lord's body we must follow the Contingencies of Daemonica and hold a vote.” Nuhades replied sternly as the rest of the Devil Knights joined a group telepathic call from the various parts of the world they were in.

“I must say, I’d love to interview the soul about the other side.” Drackura, The Knight’s Historian, asserted.

“Is that a part of the contingency now? Having a nice cup of tea with the invader?” HItop, The Knight’s Mage laughed.

“I’m simply a vampire who enjoys a good story, you should know that.” Drackura scoffed.

“Quiet you two, we’re sticking to the plan. Observe his behaviour and hold a vote.” Lillithvin groaned, looking to Nuhades in hopes that this invader had said something worthy of blowing his head off.

“He appears to be cursing god, and some creature called Japan.” Nuhades reported bluntly.

“A natural ally then. I vote that we keep him conscious” Drackura added plainly as Lillithvin screamed into her arms.

  …

Zach took a deep breath as he looked up from the massive bed he was resting in, still in the bloodied armour he had awoken in. He’d worked through his feelings about the situation, gone through the five stages of grief, though he mainly worked his feelings out in the anger stage.

“Alright, what do I know? They seem to think I’m their Demon Lord or whatever still, so I’m probably safe as long as I keep that act up. I somehow managed to heal my wounds, so I probably have magic. Probably really strong magic actually. Maybe if I play my cards right I can figure out how to get back home…” Zach contemplated idly as he stared upwards at the canopy of the bed. He suddenly heard a knock on the door startling him as he bolted up to check through the key hole, only to find no one was there. Opening the door he saw a maid was on the other end of the hallway knocking on doors.

“My senses are way too sensitive now, except for pain. I can't really feel that anymore which is good I guess. My body feels extremely strong though. I need to learn what the hell they expect me to do, but hopefully this Demon Lord character has loyal subjects.” Zach thought as he attempted to clean himself of the blood he was drenched in before the dainty footsteps arrived.

A few minutes of fruitless grooming later, there was a knock on his door properly which he answered swiftly.

“My Lord, the Devil Knights have called a meeting.” A half human half spider maid exclaimed dutifully, subtly picking up the transceiver bug off the door. Zach groaned, he hated meetings and his first introduction to this fantasy world was going to be one.

“Can I do it later?” Zach whined instinctively before realising he could be blowing his cover already. The archinid maid was surprised but nodded.

“I’ll inform them you’re busy, would you like me to prepare you anything else?” The maid asked dutifully.

Zach blinked, he was the Demon Lord now, he could just ask for things couldn’t he?

“Y-yeah, I need a change of clothes if you don’t mind. Lots of blood and all that… hah. Should probably bathe too…” Zach awkwardly requested, it felt weird to ask but he hadn’t been able to find a wardrobe in this room.

“Right away my lord, which bath would you like?"

Zach stood at the door for a few moments, his mouth agape as he tried to think of a suitably vague and plausible answer for a Demon Lord to request.

“Hot… spring?” Zach asked cautiously, surprising the maid once again.

“Of course my lord. I’ll have your clothes sent there right away.” The archinid maid replied dutifully, pondering silently why the Demon Lord would choose to bathe with the commoners instead of in his usual spot, the Pits of Damnation.

Though she had been taught to not ask questions. She bowed and clambered up the walls as she left, swallowing the transponder bug as she left.

As Zach closed the door he smacked himself in the head, realising he could’ve just had a bath drawn in the Demon Lord’s chambers. He still had absolutely no idea where anything in this absurdly large castle was.

Then, suddenly, he got an idea.

“I healed myself earlier, I can totally cast like a map spell and just make a video game waypoint thing appear.” Zach thought with a grin as he slowly raised his metallic hand.

Zach then pushed his hand out, nothing.

He lowered his hand and quickly raised it, but more forcefully, nothing except knocking over a few of the smaller trophies down with the force of the wind.

“Map… please?” Zach asked no one in particular, still sticking his hand out, still nothing.

Zach continued trying different variations of phrases, hand positions and poses to try and cast a map spell, his confidence in thinking he’d managed to heal himself fading until he figured it out.

“MAP, TAKE ME TO THE HOTSPRING!” Zach shouted, pushing both hands forward, feeling a magical energy explode out of them as a yellow line appeared on the ground to guide him to his destination.

Zach had just cast his first spell, it was a terribly cast spell, wasted an enormous amount of MP and would’ve made any magic tutor faint, but he had cast his first spell nevertheless.

“Maybe I died and went to a triple A game.” Zach snarked as he stared at the strikingly out of place transparent yellow line. He began following it diligently as it stretched from the room to hotsprings.

“Weird, where’d everyone go?” Zach thought absent mindedly, noting the lack of people or monsters on his path with a shrug.

Unbeknownst to him, all the creatures that had seen the mysterious yellow line burst forth abandoned what they were doing to get as far away from it as possible, especially once they saw who they assumed to be the Demon Lord following it awkwardly.

Making his way through the empty halls, down long flights of stairs and into the deeper layers of the underground castle, eventually walking through a long stretch of hallway that led to a large set of doors.

Pushing them open Zach found himself at the opening of a large spring, where numerous creatures were relaxing after the raid on their castle had successfully been defended against. As Zach walked further into the cavern that housed the hotsprings, all of these lesser monsters could only stare in horror as the Demon Lord himself was seemingly checking in on them.

“M-M-M-M-My lord! W-w-we was j-j-just going!” A small goblin stammered, shaking like a wet teacup poodle puppy. Zach looked down at the pitiful creature, it only came up to under his knee.

“Oh don’t worry about it, you’re all supposed to be on break right?” Zach shrugged as looked around for the changing room, if he didn’t have swimming shorts he’d just go in with his undies on.

The goblin looked at the other monsters, nodding cautiously and slowly as it backed away from the Demon Lord.

“T-thank you my lord! Your generosity knows no bounds!” The goblin screamed suddenly before jumping back into the hot spring to hide away under the water, completely escaping Zach’s notice as he walked towards a small changing room with an important looking insignia on it.

It contained his change of clothes neatly folded on a wooden bench.

Zach quickly removed his clothes, trying to remove his horns but quickly finding they were attached to his skull. With a sigh he tossed his bloodied clothes onto a pile in the corner of the change room and left the changing room.

The arachnid maid was waiting outside for him and quickly gathered his clothes from the floor, not commenting on the strange decision to leave his underwear on.

Walking into the massive spring, Zach paid little attention to the smaller creatures which anxiously attempted to distance themselves in a natural and relaxed fashion, though most had already opted to leave while the Demon Lord was changing.

It turns out that relaxing was an extremely difficult task when the most powerful creature within the Demon Realm was strolling through the spring without a care in the world, a commander who was infamous for expecting his commands to be carried out with religious reverence.

The Demon Lord, who had just told them “Don’t worry about it”

A difficult task indeed for the creatures that used this hotspring.

All the while, the Devil Knights silently observed.

“A ripe opportunity to gather information.” Drackura commentated, piercing the silence that had taken hold since observing the travesty that was this man's attempts to blend in as the Demon Lord.

“How much more must we learn before we entomb this wretched soul?” Nuhades asked bitterly, he longed for blood but he could not bring himself to face down such a farcical version of his lord.

“Unfortunately we need everyone to vote on what to do with this problem…” Lillithvin groaned, face planted firmly in her hands as a curvaceous figure entered the meeting room.

“I must say, you 2 seemed to be doing a lot of lazing around while the rest of us all dealt with those remaining humans!” Anuma, Monster Handler of the Devil Knights, chimed in.

“Sorry babs but someone had to revive our master, unfortunately we got stuck with this idiot….” Lillithvin sighed, pointing to the orb where Zach had fallen asleep in the giant hotspring while he recharged his mana.

“Needless to say I vote to keep him, the Demon Lord’s body is ripe with magic to create new homunculi.” Anuma declared, an evil grin spreading on her face.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves please....” Lillithvin sighed as she mentally tallied the votes. So far only her and Nuhades had voted to freeze this invader's consciousness, with Drackura and Anuma voting to have him maintain consciousness.

“What good is making lesser copies of our lord?!” Nuhades shouted, smashing his fist into the black oak table, denting it slightly.

“Keep your dragon in your pants there bud! We get to play with democracy while our lord is out!” Hitop laughed, his only priority was properly analysing the white sword that had caused this mess to begin with.

Everyone else on the telepathic group chat psychically groaned.

“While using our lord's body as a homunculi farm is practical, however it would be a shame to not harvest him for information as well.” Drackura added.

“A disgrace to our lord’s image! When he returns I’ll have your titles revoked for these open threats of treason!” Nuhades shouted, his stoic resolve had fully melted away at this point only leaving his burning hate.

“I just really hate the guy but I hate the idea of hurting his eminence, emperor of hell, lord of the underworld even more, so don’t even think about it you two!” Lillithvin declared defensively.

“Why can’t we just put him to work, it’d be a waste not to use such a well crafted body~” Anuma cooed as she stared at the floating orb of Zach in the hot spring approvingly, he had fallen asleep at this point with many lesser monsters running away while they had the chance.

“Bunch of extremists the lot of you… Onimaru are you on? We need another man of reason here.” Hitop asked.

“I got a report that he’s still getting 3 of his arms reattached.” Lillithvin groaned.

“I haven’t given my opinion yet and my vote is to freeze his brain!” Killophobe, The Drill Sergeant of the Demon Army, declared.

“I think we should keep him around, he looks harmless.” Titania, Head Mineral Extractor, shrugged.

“He appearssss to enjoy ssssuch things as family, alcohol, and hatessss things ssssuch as god and Japan. There wassss mention of a lack of a girlfriend and… a sssstrong negative opinion about that fact.” Rumuna, Chief of External Operations, surmised as euphemistically as she could muster.

“We simply send in Lillithvin then. Have her flirt with the man and I’m quite sure he’ll do anything we want.” Drackura suggested grimly. Lillithvin gasped in horror.

“What?! Absolutely not. This body is nowhere acceptable to be used by the Demon Lor-”

“What I think Drackura is getting at,” Anuma interrupted. Tthe succubus’s rants about this particular subject were prone to be drawn out.

“Is that you could appeal to whatever lonely male spirit has taken over our lord so that we may continue to use his strength.” Anuma explained cautiously, causing Lillithvin to scowl.

“Urgh, my heart belongs to my one and only.” Lillithvin declared dramatically raising her forearm to her face. Despite being a telepathic group call, you could hear everyone roll their eyes.

“The vote hasn’t concluded yet either. We’re still missing Leeper.” Nuhades asserted.

“Acquire sufficient leverage over the mind that has taken my body and use it to act as a proxy for me until my return unless he proves too much of a threat.” Drackura read out from the Contingencies of Daemonica’s section regarding mind control.

Lillithvin grumbled, they needed to do something until they could finish the vote but this?

“Well I don’t wanna.” Lillithvin exclaimed, turning her head away from the table.

“Well let’s put it to a vote, everyone in favour of the succubus doing as a succubus does?” Hitop asked.

  Everyone but Lillithvin said aye.

“I hate all of you.” Lillithvin scowled as she stormed off to the hot springs.

  ...

Meanwhile, Zach slowly stirred awake and saw that the entire pool had emptied, and as he awoke there was a familiar face in an unfamiliar set of clothes greeting him.

Zach slipped and fell into the water before scrambling back up in some attempt to maintain some form of composure, a failed attempt but he tried nevertheless.

“Oh what a surprise seeing you here~” Lillithvin cooed as she sat next to Zach, letting her wings drop as Zach’s neck stiffened, locked to looking directly forward to avoid risking staring disrespectfully.

Though he was still imagining her disrespectfully, half a credit for that attempt.

“I hate this, I hate this, I hate this. I’m going to kill that Imp the second my Lord returns.” Lillithvin thought as she ran her fingers down what were the Demon Lord’s muscles, though the man using them was but an ant compared to the greatness of the Demon Lord.

“H-hi… G-g-good to see you. W-w-what brings you here?” Zach muttered awkwardly, unsure where to look, so letting his eyes wander around the cave, finding that the rest of the creatures had left.

It was just him and a cute monster woman alone.

“Oh well y’know, since we defeated the hero and his party, and finished sending them off to their little dungeons for further questioning, I thought, time for a little rest and relaxation~” Lillithvin exposited, she needed to give Zach a clue so he could keep up the pathetic little act of being the Demon Lord up.

“Ah… yes.” Zach said, his typical anxiety around women fading slightly upon hearing that there was a hero in this world. Lillithvin noted this change and subtly shifted the way she sat in case he tried something funny.

“Tell me, what happened exactly during my fight? My memory is a little uhhhh… hazy.” Zach asked cautiously. Lillithvin smirked, remembering she was just dealing with a loser.

“Wellll, they managed to surprise us a little, snuck in, made a little mess and of course… stabbed you with that sword, we’re getting Hitop to research it now, make sure it didn’t do anything weird.” Lillithvin said, dropping the mask for the briefest of moments. Zach nodded.

“Y-yeah, well. My memory is a little foggy in uh, general. Lot’s of things seem to be… gone.” Zach muttered, causing Lillithvin to burst out laughing.

“Don’t tell me, you forgot my name didn’t you?” Lillithvin teased, using Zach’s thigh as a leverage point to get closer to his face, causing the man to begin to turn red.

“M-maybe?” Zach asked, heart pounding as this sharp toothed demon woman was dangerously close to being able to bite his jugular off.

“It’s Lillithvin.” She whispered into his ear before standing up, having decided she can’t stand being in this imbecile's presence another moment and seeing she can have him wrapped around her finger in an instant.

“I’ll give you a full report to help jog your memory then.” Lillithvin said standing up, replacing his previously safe view of the bare cliff with bare ass.

“Right… Thank you.” Zach mumbled as he stared unblinkingly forwards for a few more moments.

He never imagined satyr legs could look so much like thigh highs.

The rest of the Devil Knights watched as this interaction finished, seeing a clearly flabbergasted man struggling to contain himself.

As far as they were concerned, the Devil Knights had secured complete cooperation with this outsider through charm.

And Zach had suddenly found himself replacing the Demon Lord.
