Chapter 3 of Bean Interstellar

After the Dou Galaxy Alliance rescue ships eliminated the remaining enemy forces, a bright, deadly beam finished charging — the Divine Rail Laser Cannon fired, locking onto the fleeing enemy vessel.

In space, Tian Dao?1’s alarm blared:

【Alert! Our ship is locked on! Under attack by a Divine Rail?class weapon!】

  “Damn it!” Mobiuslidou cursed.

Belle snapped out orders at once: “Evasive maneuvers now! Fire all interceptor missiles! Full power to shields!”

The ship veered violently, interceptors launching in a volley, and a pale blue shield flared to life. The vessel narrowly dodged the fatal beam, escaping by a hair’s breadth.

On the desolate planet’s surface, the Alliance rescue force landed in full, setting up defenses while sending search teams to locate High Commander Belle.

A frontline report arrived: Mobiuslidou’s heavily damaged escape pod had been found in the ruins. Belle was missing.

Inside the ship’s bridge, lights flickered on and off. Tian Dao?1 reported the damage. Mobiuslidou staggered to one side, gasping for breath. Belle hugged him tight from behind, her body trembling slightly. She snapped back to her senses and let go at once.

Mobiuslidou straightened and saluted: “Reporting to Commander Belle! Mission complete, awaiting orders!”

Belle looked away: “Well done. Rest. Tian Dao?1, maintain maximum alert.”

Inside Dou Galaxy Alliance Command, Dou Batian stared at the interstellar projection. An adjutant quietly delivered the search results. The command room fell silent.

Dou Batian spoke gravely: “No trace means they are alive. Recall all search teams. Stand by for Tian Dao?1’s signal. All forces return to position and prepare for battle!”

Inside the bridge, Tian Dao?1 prompted again:

【Encrypted code sequence detected. Suspected top?secret enemy data. Decrypt?】

Belle glanced at Mobiuslidou. He was about to salute when she grabbed his wrist.

“Just the two of us. No formalities.”

  Tian Dao?1 immediately cut in: 【And me.】

Belle shot it a glance: “You’re my property.”

The mech’s lights flickered twice and fell silent.

Belle turned back: “What do we do now?”

Mobiuslidou stared at her, dazed, his wrist still in her grip.

“Hey! Why are you zoning out?!”

He snapped back: “We’re flying an enemy ship — the Alliance will shoot us down if we return. Let’s decrypt the code first. It could win us a major victory.”

Belle ordered at once: “Tian Dao?1, decrypt the code!”

After a short pause, nothing happened.

  Belle frowned: “Tian Dao?1?”

The mech slowly turned its head away: 【In a bad mood today. On leave for one day.】

Belle stepped forward, annoyed: “What is that even supposed to mean?”

The mech said nothing. She reluctantly softened her tone: “I’m sorry. Will you please decrypt the code?”

Mobiuslidou stood frozen, watching in disbelief.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

  Inside Dou Galaxy Alliance Command.

“Commander! Urgent report — Tian Dao?1’s signal is gone! No contact!”

Dou Batian’s face darkened. His hands, clasped behind his back, tightened as he paced before the tactical map.

Everyone in the command room bowed their heads.

  A red alarm blared.

Dou Batian roared: “All forces, prepare for battle! Launch immediately!”

With one order, the command center shifted to maximum war status.

  Deep in space.

Tian Dao?1 had seized full control of the captured ship, quietly heading at full speed toward the enemy’s core region with Mobiuslidou and Belle aboard.

On the outskirts of the Dou Galaxy, the two sides clashed at full fury.

The Alliance’s orbital laser cannons on outer planets fired at maximum power, coordinated with thousands of main ships’ Divine Rail Laser Cannons in three relentless volleys.

Blazing white beams ripped across the stars, piercing the enemy formation. Motherships, cruisers, and fighters exploded in turn, turning into fire and debris across the sky.

Both sides fought to the death — no retreat, no mercy, a brutal war of attrition.

This battle would echo through interstellar history.

  It became known as:

  The Wrath of Batian.

And on the far side of the universe, the ship of fate sailed into unknown darkness.

  Inside the ship’s quarters.

  Mobiuslidou slowly opened his eyes.

Looking down, he found Belle sleeping with both arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

Belle’s eyelashes trembled, and she woke slowly.

Mobiuslidou closed his eyes at once, pretending to still be asleep.

Belle sat up, instantly alert. She glanced around, then looked at the “sleeping” Mobiuslidou beside her.

She cleared her throat softly: “Hey, wake up!”

Mobiuslidou finally opened his eyes and stood: “Commander Belle, what are your orders?”

Belle spoke to the cabin: “Tian Dao?1, where are we?”

  The mechanical voice replied:

【Far beyond Dou Universe territory. Current location: unknown. No valid coordinates.】

  The two froze.

  Mobiuslidou stared in disbelief. What?

Belle stormed up to the mech, glaring up at it: “Hey! Who told you to fly us out here?! I never gave that order! What are you doing?!”

Tian Dao?1 lowered its head, looking at the furious Belle.

Its eye?lights flickered, then it looked away.

【Low power. Recharging. System blackout. No data logs.】

Belle’s eyes widened: “Oh my god — you can lie now?!”

Mobiuslidou stood to the side, stunned. Tech had gotten this advanced?

Belle breathed heavily, staring daggers at the mech.

Mobiuslidou coughed lightly and stepped in carefully: “Uh… Commander Belle, why don’t we decrypt the enemy code first?”

Belle calmed down, smoothed her hair, and said to Tian Dao?1: “Decrypt the enemy code.”

The mech slowly crouched down, and pale blue holograms projected from its eyes.

Data streamed wildly across the screens as decryption began.
