Like seasons carving new paths through ancient stone, six years passed, leaving profound changes in its wake.
Raised under the assiduous watch of Kaito and Airi, Kaname's existence remained a closely guarded secret known only to a select few. As her beauty continued to evolve and defy divine logic, those around often found themselves momentarily speechless reconciling such radiance with a child so young.
From the deepest hours of the night till dusk, her lessons were overseen by the Elders, a lineage of gifted specialists elevated to the highest position within the clan. These chosen keepers passed down sacred skills and wisdom from one generation to the next, their talents honed through centuries of dedicated service to the Chika clan.
Despite her limited exposure to the outside world, Kaname found solace in Yasushi's companionship, which remained as constant as her own shadow. Now in his adolescence, he devoted himself to her as a friend, a confidant and as a fiancé. He fed her, dressed her, attended her lessons, shared baths, and frequently left his chambers to sleep alongside her. He tailored his daily life around Kaname, regularly displaying agitation during times he could not have access to her.
Though this connection, encouraged by both Kaito and Airi, sought to lay the foundation for their future, priorities began to shift faster than sand beneath changing tides.
What began as sporadic Yazumi attacks morphed into relentless campaigns of terror and sabotage plaguing all four clans. Villages burned with the regularity of sunrise, their ashes scattered like prayers to uncaring gods. Supply routes reshaped into death traps merchants feared to tread. Strained resources placed heavy burdens on the Chika clan as the endless deployment of soldiers stretched the clan's finances thin.

Initially scouring multi-realm literature, histories and folklore, Kaito became hemmed in by futility, as his research failed to deconstruct Kaname's origins. The escalating attacks further pulled him away from his pursuit, no longer able to discreetly investigate the child's origins, he abandoned his intentions to face the rising crisis.
As circumstances outpaced him, he abandoned his efforts and engrossed himself in wrestling with the encroaching bedlam defining the realm. He shrewdly adapted palace security to address mounting pressures, transitioning routine protection into a state of constant vigilance.
In spite of the rising tension, Airi absorbed herself into Kaname's development, as if the child had become her singular purpose. Her appearances in once regular combat, council hearings and strategy sessions became sporadic, then non-existent. Later delegating the majority of her responsibilities to Captain Haru. Her gradual withdrawal during a period of unfolding chaos added fissures in the royal household, taking root with each passing crisis.
Words grew scarce as understanding grew distant.
Shouldering burdens once shared, resentment crept into conversations once filled with playful banter and warmth, subtly turning into brief exchanges.
As the winter solstice approached and preparations for the fall festival commenced, an unsettling calm descended upon the Living Realm. The sudden cessation of attacks brewed an eerie atmosphere of anticipation that promised either deliverance or catastrophe.
Kona here ???????っ
I know this chapter is short. Please forgive your Onee-Chan! I decided to do a shorter chapter and then give you a longer chapter to make up for it. I hope you enjoyed the story so far. I know the pace slowed down quite a but but don't worry! It's going to pick back up! I PROMISE TO DELIVER THE SPICYNESS !!!So buckled up for some intense drama... coming soon...
Story Notes:
What is a birth element? In the Living realm, everyone (those considered to be mortals) has a birth element. This element was gifted to the 4 warriors by the Titans (Chapter 1), who later gifted portions of this power to their respective people. The descendants of the warriors are the only group that have the strongest and most powerful version of the elements. They are also able to control more than one.
The natural (aka birth) state of their element can be either water, earth, fire or air. This element is passed down by genetics and can mutate.
Ex. Mom has a water element + Father has a fire element = Child with either a water, fire birth element or a combination element that's a mix between water and fire.
I will give you a heads up HHEHEHEHEHE... As time went on, some people experienced a mutation causing them to have a variation or an evolved manifestation of elements passed down. (I will not go any further here, just keep it in mind).
Thanks again for your support!
