Arttu and Harven drew three cards from their respective decks. After drawing three cards, they played rock-paper-scissors to determine the pink side.
Rock
Paper
Scissors
Harven made rock, and Arttu made scissors.
Harven starts.
Harven looked at his cards and gave out a mocking laugh.
“I WILL…”
“...play my sacrifice piece one hexagon.”
It was now Arttu’s turn. He placed his hand on his chin as he thought, “What an immaculate move. What should I do?” He looked at his cards and glanced a look at Harven.
Harven was smiling ingloriously, waiting for Arttu to make a move.
Arttu gulped for a second and then made his move.
“I play— ‘The Transformer’.”
‘The Transformer is a sacrifice card that turns one of your sacrifice pieces into a Joker piece. The effect only applies if you have any sacrifice pieces left.”
Harven looked like his world had ended. “Incredible technique… I never knew you had that.”
They put their remaining cards on the discard pile and then drew again.
One
Two
Three
Harven looked confident in himself.
“You played well, Arttu. But I know that you didn’t calculate this…”
“My precious spell card, ‘Thief’”
‘Thief is a spell card that can steal one of the pieces or cards of the opposite player. And turn it into their own.”
Arttu laughed maliciously, looking down at the table.
“The words out of one's mouth are only words. Let the cards speak… Sir Harven.”
Arttu glanced back up as his smile grew bigger.
“Twister.”
Harven gave out a deep sigh.
“NOOOOOO”
‘Twister is a spell card that turns the spell card that the other player has played into their own.’
“Your spells are pointless.”
They once again put their cards on the discard pile and drew again.
All of a sudden, they both looked disgusted, looking at their cards.
Harven looked desperate,
“I’ll move one hexagon now.”
Arttu looked normal too,
“Yeah, I’ll do that to—”
He froze. Completely. Like his soul had briefly left his body.
“Wait, if I play one more hexagon, he is going to use that card. But what is the probability of that?”
He put his hands on his temples, trying to calculate the probability of that happening.
“By Hypergeometric, he has a 24.9% chance that the two copies will be in his deck initially, and a 50.2% chance that he has one in his deck, as well as a 24.9% chance that he doesn’t have anything at all. And he has a 9.1% chance that he could draw from two copies, as well as a 3.1% chance that he could draw it from one copy. So, in total, he would have a 3.81% chance of ever drawing it! Did he really take that chance!?!”
He paused for a moment and then smiled confidently.
“That chance is too low. He possibly can’t draw it.”
He moved his sacrifice piece onto the higher hexagon.
They both put their cards on the discard pile and then redrew.
A sigh of relief came to Arttu’s face when he saw that the cards in his deck.
That card…
…was there.
“Aggravation”
‘The Aggravation is an enhancer card that can make an opponent’s card move the way you want.’
In that slight state of relief, Harven’s presence changed.
His movements became precise.
“Play Two.”
And then he chose another,
“Thief”

Arttu looked with desperation, “HE HAS THE OTHER COPY OF THE THIEF?!?”
Arttu expected him to take his Joker piece and make it his own.
But he didn’t.
Harven slowly approached Arttu's deck of cards.
Arttu mocked Harven inside.
“What’s he even doing? Even if he chooses the aggravation card, he could only destroy one Joker. Stealing my Joker piece is the obvious choice.”
Harven chose…
“Aggravation.”
He played aggravation and destroyed the newly transformed Joker piece of Arttu.
But then…
“ReEnhance”
‘ReEnhance is a spell card that replays the last played Enhance card.’
In this case, Harven used aggravation once again.
“NO WAAAAY.”
But that voice wasn’t Arttu’s; it was coming from behind. A man with a bald head approached them.
“I am so sorry, guys, but your play was incredible. Please go on.”
They put their cards on the discard pile and drew.
At this time of the match.
Arttu had six sacrifice pieces and five Joker pieces, while Harven had seven sacrifice pieces and six Joker pieces.
Another man joined to spectate the match. He pulled up a chair and then sat on it with one of his hands on his chin and the other on his knees. This pose is what professional Blinx players always use to observe an important match: THE THINKER.
“The pink side is clearly dominating this match.”
Harven looked at his cards with a smile on his face.
“Let’s make this match a little more interesting.”
He played…
…the worker.
‘The worker is a spell card that forces the players to play pieces without being able to play cards for three rounds.’
They discarded their hands and started playing.
Harven played three of their dormant sacrifice pieces on one hexagon, while Arttu played one of his dormant pieces on two hexagons, and one of them played on just one hexagon.
Then they drew.
But this time, Harven wasn’t starting. It was Arttu’s turn to start now. In Blinx, each player takes the starting turn after every five rounds. This was the seventh round of the match.
“I summon THE INTERGALACTIC!”
‘The Intergalactic is one of the most powerful cards in the entire deck of Blinx. It is a sacrifice card that can turn any sacrifice piece into intergalactic. It is randomly applied by the spell of the game itself. The intergalactic eats any card, no matter which color it is, within his radius. After playing the intergalactic, the player can move it to one hexagon in that round. The effect lasts for two rounds.’
The thinker positioned man started to think more deeply.
“The intergalactic is a big gamble to take. This early on… If the intergalactic chooses one of the back center pieces, even if he moves one hexagon, he will lose a lot of sacrifices. Why did he take that chance?”
The randomness chose…
…
…
The most ahead piece.
Arttu tried to lower a glass he didn’t have.
“Luck only chooses the brightest piece, Sir Harven.”
Everyone was shocked.
The bald man put his two hands on his bald head: “Heh!?!”
The thinker delved deeper into thinking: “How?!?”
Even the old lady at the tavern reacted: “Offu!”
Arttu played the piece on the higher hexagon. And the intergalactic ate two of Harven’s sacrifice pieces.
Harven looked down with his hands trembling. He didn’t play a card move. He played…
…the left center piece towards Arttu’s intergalactic range. And his piece was eaten by the intergalactic.
Arttu gave a big smile.
“He must be out of his mind. What’s he doing?”
They put their remaining cards on the discard pile and then redrew.
Arttu didn’t care about his cards. He simply played his intergalactic once more, the intergalactic ate two Joker cards of Harven.
“What will you do now, you genius?”
Harven started his smile shyly, but then his smile grew as he lifted his face.
“Sorry, Arttu, but even you are incapable of considering one thing. I will now activate my Trap Card.”
‘The trap card is a spell card that will randomly destroy the same kind of pieces of the opponent that the user lost in the last two hands.’
In Harven’s case, these were: A sacrifice piece from his last hand and two joker cards from that hand.
Everyone sighed at the moment of this move.
Another man started watching the game. He had tri-colored, spiky hair and a stout, rounded figure, dressed in an oversized blue button-down. He leaned in, his face suddenly tightening into a deep, pixelated squint.
The thinker and the bald man gasped at the sight of the man. But the man just made a stop sign. Pointing them to watch the game without interfering with it.
And the Trap Card chose the intergalactic and the two Joker pieces on the left back of Arttu’s side.
They played for a few hours. Harven slammed cards on the table, Arttu nullified. Arttu attacked, Harven defended.
“THE PALADIN”
They moved pieces, ate pieces, gained pieces, and lost pieces. The spectators were also fully engaged in the match.
The bald man pulled out his non-existent hair due to the pressure of the match.
The thinker’s bent turned from a hundred and twenty-degree angle to a two hundred and then degree angle. He was so bent that he couldn’t see the board now. And the tri-colored, spiky-haired man’s pixelated squint twisted into a deeper squint. Once a three-man crowd turned into a twenty-man crowd. Each dying to get a glimpse of the match.
Near the end of the match, Arttu had one sacrifice piece and one Joker piece, while Harven had only two Joker pieces.
They were both breathing through their mouths heavily as if they had run a full marathon. However, in the end, Arttu was the one at a disadvantage. He had only one Joker piece while Harven had two. If he lost one more, he would lose.
Harven’s pieces were positioned as a striking force in the North-East. While Arttu was playing a defensive, tight formation in the center, Harven kept his Jokers together on the outskirts, creating a pincer-like pressure from above. He is currently unattached to the main cluster, giving him the flexibility to choose where to attack.
Harven looked devilishly.
“The game ends here… Arttu.”
He played…
…the Catapult.
‘The Catapult is an enhance card that can make you throw any piece to the opposite side. If the piece moves without hitting any other piece, it is lost, but if the piece hits another piece, it is saved. It eats it and positions itself in the same position the previous piece was in.”
Harven positioned his fingers to hit the Joker piece.
“I never miss, Arttu.”
And he hit the Joker piece. Everyone in the crowd started sighing.
The bald man clenched his bald head tighter.
The thinker gained more inclination.
The tri-colored spiky-haired man’s squint became squintier.
Others in the crowd have opened their mouth in shock as the piece slowly propelled through Arttu’s Joker.
Closer… closer… closer…
And then…
…it hit.
But the piece didn’t move. Everyone was lost in shock as Arttu slowly lifted his hand with elegant motion.
He whispered slowly,
“The—Paladin”
‘The paladin is an enhance card that can shield any piece.”
In this case, it shielded Arttu’s Joker.
Harven’s Joker was destroyed. This time, Arttu was the one with the lead. One Joker and a Sacrifice piece vs. One Joker piece.
They drew another three cards.
Harven smiled prideful.
“You’ve made me proud, Arttu.”
And played…
…
…the interchange.
‘The interchange is a spell card that destroys the same piece you’ve sacrificed in your opponent.’
And Harven had only one piece left: A Joker.
“We both deserved this win, Arttu.”
The crowd started to cheer them both. Everyone was clapping until their hands couldn’t. Some cried out of happiness. Some looked at them with full recognition.
Arttu and Harven shook hands at the end of the match as a sign of respect.
DRAW.
The man with the tri-colored spiky hair approached them with confidence.
“My name is Yugi Nakamura. I haven’t watched a match of this caliber for a long time. Here is my card.”
Yugi Nakamura
Best Blinx player of all time.
“I would like to scout you. You guys have insane potential.”
Harven and Arttu looked at each other and nodded.
“We’ll accept it,” Harven answered without hesitation.
“No, you don’t.”
A voice came from behind with malice.
“Oh, Mirvana. We were just going back,” Harven answered while smiling.
Mirvana hold both from the ear.
“You are going back, alright,” then slid them out of the tavern.
Yugi Nakamura lowered his glass and sighed in frustration.
“What a waste of talent.”
The position before the final. (Sorry for the bad drawing.)
