EPISODE 1: ROUGH INTRODUCTIONS
FPV:
INT. WHITE SEDAN - DAY
It’s a cold, snowing saturday, GENDO (27, currently works at a law firm as a consultant but was a hitman prior to getting this job) and is girlfriend (RACHAEL, a 25 year old who’s studying to become a doctor at the Osaka university hospital) are on a road trip to the mountains and are currently on a road that goes around a small mountain.
Gendo
(in driver seat looking left to look at rachael with her looking at him smiling softly)
Rachael
(looks at him and smiles softly)
It’s pretty cold today isn’t it? Did you bring some warm clothes?
Gendo
What are you now? My mom?
Rachael
(looks away from him and faces the car window with a cute angry face that’s slightly pinkish red)
Don’t be mean! I just care that’s all, dummy.
Gendo
(smirks by her reaction)
Well alright then, MOM. I did so don’t sweat it, just enjoy the ride, we’re almost there.
Rachael
(sits back into her normal position)

A semi truck on the opposite lane loses grip on the road due to the ice that’s developed on the road and to prevent the truck from falling off the small mountain turns onto the other side of the road, resulting in a head on collision with Gendo’s car. This causes Gendo to hit his head against the steering wheel and for Rachael to be ejected out of her seat, onto the road- a deafening silence follows. Camera focusing on the truck driver’s foot slamming on the brakes and the tyres screeching.
Gendo
(shouts in the most frantic and loudest way )
Rachel!
(opens car door with blood drawing from the front and side and rushes to her on the middle of the road)
Rachael, are you okay? Say something!
(looks at her abdomen to find a metal fragment lodged in her, with blood gushing out and places her on his lap)
Rachael
(coughs out some blood)
gendo…
(eyes become lifeless and her body loosens due to lack of muscle control)
Gendo
(looks shocked and is struggling to comprehend her death, his pupils decrease in size and his eyes starts micro-jittering, starts crying uncontrollably and puts his head on her lap)
Rachel, please rachael, don’t leave me. You’re all I've got, please don’t go…
This was a flashback of Gendo’s in his dream and it is now 2 years later. He’s now jobless and lives in a rundown apartment in a more sketchy place in japan. He’s depressed and pale in skin color with a deeper voice.

INT. APARTMENT BEDROOM - MORNING
Gendo
(awakens in a state of shock and fear from his dream and pounces up to a sitting position panting)
That same dream, the same one I've been having for god knows how long since then. God fucking damn it.
(rubs his face with both hands)
Alright, time to get some shit done
Rest of the scene consists of him making a cup of black coffee from a drip machine with the camera shooting a close-up at the coffee slowly dripping into the plain white coffee mug he got on special that still has its special sticker saying 70 yen with a close-up of that too. And while going around the house waiting for the coffee to drip, a letter is discreetly slipped under the door. He reaches for the envelope and opens it, it’s a job offer for a hitman position at a company called the Ophtus Corporation. The note has nothing more than an address, number, and a short persuasive paragraph trying to get him to accept the job by telling him the pay being 760 billion yen.
Gendo
Well I never thought I'd be called back for those services. But, money’s money.
Instant:
INT. DARK VOID
We transition into a dark void with nothing more than a 7 year-old GAMI on her knees, looking at the shadows of her parents walking towards the distant light shouting out:”mommy please don’t go! I promise I'll be a good girl!” and then they both enter the light and the light disappears. She then wakes up from this flashback dream the same way Gendo did.
Instant:
INT. LUXURIOUS PRINCESS-THEMED BEDROOM
Gami
(awakens in a state of shock and fear from her dream and pounces up to a sitting position panting)
It was just a dream, just a dream…
(in her thoughts, she asks where the butler is to herself)
James, you old-ass!! Where are you?! You should’ve woken me up and greeted me with some freshly made jasmine tea already!!!
James
My sincerest apologies my lady, I was doing the dishes since the washer was on sick leave. I hope you can forgive me, your grace.
Gami
I see, well then I apologize for complaining so ignorantly at you. Now go on and make me some tea, my throat feels dryer than your personality!.
James
Of course madam, I shall be my way to prepare your tea. It shall be ready in 3 minutes.
(walks off but is stopped by Gami)
Gami
Oh and James…
James
Yes madam?
Gami
(smiles)
Good morning!
James
(smiles back)
Good morning to you too!
James walks out of the room and closes the door behind him, but later re-enters with the tea and an envelope next to the tea on the saucer plate.
James
Madam, an envelope was discreetly slipped under the gate to the manor today and had your name on it.
(hands it over)
Gami
Then what the hell are you just standing there for? GIVE IT TO ME!!!
James
As you wish my lady
(hands letter into her hands)
This envelope contained the near same information regarding a job offer, the difference being that she was offered a hunter position and was offered 850 billion yen.
Gami
(folds envelope after reading it)
James, prepare the car! I’ve got a job to attend to!
James
Of course madam, as you wish
(goes off to prepare the car for the trip to the Ophtus Corporation's headquarters)
Split:
INT. THEIR CARS - DAY
The next scene sees them both in a car, with both of them being on half of the screen and not directly looking at the camera. They both arrive there at the same time, with James opening the doors at the back of a Rolls Royce for Gami to exit; and Gendo exiting his blue near-broken down Hyundai grand I10.
Instant:
EXT. OPHTUS CORP.’S HQ
James
We have arrived, miss
Gami
Yeah no shit, James. I’ve got eyes for a reason
(Gendo gets out of his car behind theirs and makes his way towards the entrance, while observing what is happening)
Gendo
(inner monologue)
What a brat
Gami
(inner monologue)
How unsightful, a Peasant
Both walk into the building while looking disgusted at each other, they eventually use the elevator to travel to the sub-floors of the facility to meet their agent that hired them.
Instant:
INT. ROBUST CONCRETE UNDERGROUND FACILITY - DAY
The elevator doors open and on the other side is Richard, their agent, waiting to greet them and inform them in more detail about their jobs.
(elevator doors open)
Richard
Ah good afternoon Gendo and Gami! What a wonderful day it’s been, am I right or what?!
Gendo and Gami look at each other in pure shock, realizing that they are going to work together and the fact that they were not told that they would be working with someone else.
Gendo
Richard…
Richard
Yes, how may I help?!
Gendo
There’s no way that I am working with a kid, are you stupid or what? She’s a kid
Gami
Uh, fuck you!
(Richard interrupts)
Richard
Now, now. There’s no need for such vile language, we need to stay professional guys!
(they both ignore what he says and keep arguing)
Gendo
Listen here you little shit! Don’t say crap like that unless you wanna get your ass kicked, you hear me?!
Gami
Yeah yeah, whatever old man. Like you can do shit!
(Richard collects himself, remaining quiet and observing them. Seeing this as cute)
Richard
(smiles)
Alright then you two! I've got some errands to run, I'll leave you guys alone to get to know each other and I’ll be sending you your briefs for your first mission together tomorrow!!

(subtly leaves the room, quietly closing the door and jolts for the elevator door)
(walks into the elevator and turns around, facing the open doors)
The journey will be rough, but…
(medium-level close shot of the closed door of the room gami and gendo are in)
(close, leveled shot of richard in the elevator)
(smiles lightly)
They’ll be just fine!
(looks up to the ceiling with one hand in his pocket and says in his internal monologue)
Right? Or…not? Oh who cares, I have to get my hungry hands on that breakfast meal from McDonald’s before it’s too late!! 10:30!! Better hurry!!!
The episode ends with the elevator doors closing with a ping sound right after they close and then the screen turns black and the credits roll.
