Chapter 38: Odd…
(Maralia’s POV)
Maralia: “…”
Faith: “Ah, it has been so long since I have had a body…” She said with a cheerful tone, looking herself all over.
Faith was there before me, fully in the flesh. How did she get a body? This wasn’t an illusion, nor was I in Celia’s soul. What did she do to receive a new vessel?…
Faith: “I won’t join in on the game, but I will be by Celia’s side from now on, Maralia.” She said with a serious tone.
Maralia: “…What… how…” I was speechless.
Faith: “I betrayed you, simple as that.” She replied with a giggle.
Maralia: “…”
Faith: “Don’t look at me like that… It wasn’t anything that bad.” She added with a pout.
In what way did she betray me? I, for the life of me, cannot even fathom what she means by that. It wasn’t just that Faith now had a body, Celia and her souls were now completely separated.
Such a task was damn near impossible to carry out, and would require someone of my or Sava’s power to do. So when Faith says that had betrayed me, it just confuses me even further…
Faith: “Still confused? Ah, I guess that with how I act, most won’t realize that I am actually pretty powerful. Do recall that a Will had to personally erase me. Hey, just peek at my Status, okay?” She gloated.

Maralia: “Mother didn’t mention you being so powerful…” I replied in awe at her Status.
Faith: “To think that I’d ever see a woman as powerful as you… react like that. It is very pleasing to see!” She said with a hearty ugh.
Maralia: “…What are your intentions, and how did you betray me?” I asked with a serious tone.
Faith: “My intention is to save Celia, and that is the pure truth of the matter. As for how I betrayed you… well, just look for a bit, and you’ll see what is missing.” She answered with a still cheerful tone.
My body was fine, none of my desires were taken, but my soul was… halved! That fucking bitch stole an entire half of my soul!!! I should kill her for this…
Faith: “Calm down! You’ll wake Celia up.” She scolded.
Maralia: “…”
Faith: “This isn’t that bad, you know? It won’t take more than a few years for your soul to heal.” She coaxed.
Maralia: “A few years? Are you insane!? A loss this grand won’t heal so quickly!” I expressed in anger, but not loudly. I didn’t wish to wake Celia up, you see.
Frankly, I assume that Faith is just messing with me… How the hell can a soul just heal that fast? I refuse to believe her words. In fact, at the moment, I am just struggling on if I should fight her or not…
