Chapter 43: We Need to Work on Her a Bit…

  (Maralia’s POV)

Making Celia rest was like trying to get an overactive child to sit down… When it came to things like this, I truly understood how Celia was drastically younger than most of her family.

Lia is the closest to her in age, but Lia is secretly an old soul. Perhaps she likes to act young, which is why she keeps it a secret. Once she became a Higher Being, the memories of her past revealed themselves to her.

Of course, due to her desires, Ria had sealed said memories away. In that sense, Celia really is the youngest of our group. It is also depicted in how she acts…

Maralia: “Can you not just sit down for an hour to two? You’re a Higher Being… a Highest Goddess, at that!” I scold.

Celia: “I can’t help it…” She pouted in reply.

  Maralia: “…”

This, despite being something that she just said in defense, was the absolute truth. Unlike other Higher Beings, Celia got her strength and power far too young. We all think this, but we do nothing to help Celia out.

If it wasn’t for Celia, all of her family would act jaded and uncaring. Frankly, most Higher Beings are selfish monsters, me included. Why else would I willingly try to make Celia my wife, when she already has so many of them?

But… once someone meets Celia, it’s like their world and viewpoint fully brightens up for the first time in an endless number of years.

Though hidden, the selfishness is still there. Which is why, even though distancing themselves from her is the correct and easiest way to save Celia, none of us have considered that method at all.

Celia is deeply different, still, even now, she acts like an overly compassionate human. Her power didn’t jade Celia at all, she hasn’t become more selfish than she was by default. With all things considered, Celia is practically no different from when she was a cell…

Maralia: “What are you going to do when you and your family get invited to Home?” I ask with a sigh.

Celia: “At that point, I will rest and rex with my family, you included, Maralia.” She answered with a smile.

Maralia: “That so? And yet… like a child, I was required to stop you from working this entire time. Do you not even recall how I have had to catch you from sneaking away more than ten times, with you absolutely having the intention to get work done?” I ask with my arms crossed.

Celia: “It’s a personal defect of mine, dear. I may not ask for much from my family, but one thing that I will ask of them… is to help me overcome this fwed aspect of myself.” She replied with a sigh.

  Maralia: “…”

Celia: “As empathic as I am, please know that… saving all of these females does put a great strain on me. Taking on their well-beings is… heavy for me. They’re burdens of which I wish that I didn’t have to take on.” She admitted with a grim tone.

She was… aware this entire time, then? Once more, none of us talked to her about it. We just told her to stop it, but besides that, we didn’t help in the least. Ah, so, like the rest, I seem to have failed Celia as well…
